I’m scared, I had another violent dream.I know people say that whenever they try to punch someone while dreaming it’s difficult to do and weak, but in my case I’ve had multiple dreams where I get incredibly pissed off due to arguing with people, then end up killing and beating up/harming people. My last dream I just woke up from involved gouging a civilian bartender’s bare side with a sharp piece of glass and cutting downward until he had a long lengthy cut (and thus scar). The entire time he was wincing in pain while everyone else stare in horror or shock.Prior to that I was already fighting him with breaking bottles and glasses and trying to hit him. Are these a bad sign or something? I’m not even this violent or aggressive in real life.
>>43468445I'm not good at dream interpretation, but the fact that you are scared by the violence instead of enjoying it is already a good sign. I wouldn't worry too much about this, it is highly unlikely that you will just start hurting people out of nowhere because of a bad dream. Some introspection and searching for the root of those dreams can't hurt though. Maybe it's as simpke as your brain still being stuck on some slasher movie you watched.

Not either of you, anons, just chipping in with my stuff regarding violence and dreams. I do enjoy the fights in media, and in waking my thoughts do wander to combat, modeling all sorts of scenarios, pondering the causes and sprinkling a healthy dose of power fantasy. Within a recent dream that was close to violence, it was a bunch of guys trying to pick on me/steal something from me/some other reason I can't remember. And I was heavily outnumbered. No power fantasy there, just sheer positioning and retreat when the feel of fear started dictating it. No actually violence managed to commence before being forced awake by my cat, but the feeling is overall was always annoyance.I do not know when normal nightmare scenarios swapped fear for annoyance with me, but it's a little interesting to think about to me. For example I finger the still like teeth aching and falling out - get them in alignment by hand, pop them back in, tripophobic stuff on body - squeeze out like pimples and apply desinfection, get a huge cyst on the inside of a cheek - strategic biting then taking out with fingers and getting a mouthful of chlorhexidine.It just became annoying stuff I have to fix.And every damn time when I wake up I lament I didn't get a lucid dream to control.

I've been trying out the meditation guide more seriously for the last week or so, with the help of some guided Vipassana vids because i'm really scatterbrained. Only pretty short sessions (~15 minutes), but daily. Today i feel like i made progress. It started with a sensation as if the world and my body was turning around me, orbiting me. Then that passed, and my breathing became almost unnoticable. Might have even seen a light, but that could have also been caused by my eyelid opening slightly. Maybe i'm just imagining things, but i'm really happy that I'm already seeing some progress!
