Do you think the resurgence of MLP made by Gen Zers on platforms like Twitter and Tiktok bring on a sort of revival of the Brony/MLP fandom like in the early days (2011-2014)? Why or why not
>>43482066>Do you think...Fuck no.>Why or why notBecause they're Gen Zers on Twitter and Tiktok.
>>43482066No. The internet is too consolidated for something like mlp to occur again
>>43482066Not. Gen Z is too low-T for a man's man show like Friendship Is Magic. It won't last.
bump
>>43482066No.First, the early 2010's was the last time a show like FiM could've had the cultural impact it had. Today's internet has gotten too divided yet too centralized at the same time. There's no space for people with varied and nuanced taste, who understand you can enjoy very different things for very different reasons. If you like two things now, it has to be because of what they have in common.Second, TikTok and Twitter users despise the actual brony culture formed by millennials. Sure, they may make fanarts of Cupcakes HD or PONY.MOV, but they have no idea what made them good to begin with. Not to mention many of them are a bunch of hypocrites who will go "Wah, bronies should not lewd the characters because it made me feel uncomfortable when little" only to jack it off to those same fanarts a couple of minutes later.Third, people in those platforms only care about the content that it is showed to them when it seems popular and have no inner desire for personal research, so the type of discussions people used to have about the show in places like Tumblr, 4chan and pony-related forums are incompatible with the way this people engage in arguments.
It'd never be on the same scale but if for some reason G6 was genuinely good I think you'd see a resurgence. The simple reality is nobody wants to be a part of a fandom to a series that's dead.
>>43482124>Zoomers whining about bronies jerking it to ponies when they do the sameTheir hypocrisy is fucking astounding to me. They'll rag on horsefuckers for wanting to fuck the horses but then they'll go on and on about wanting to drool over gay Sombra or Braeburn shit. It's ALWAYS Sombra more than any other stallion too.
>>43482066Hell no. The internet is way too different for something like the early fim days to EVER happen again. Also the gen z fandom fucking sucks
>>43482066No its just more memes and LARPing as mlp fans. Any type of fandom they create will be more of an offshoot since many of them want to distance themselves from the OG brony community. Right now its just a bunch of horse girl fans who grew up and dudes pretending to be fans because its somewhat trendy >t. zoomer
>>43482066Yes just don't ask them the name of fluttershy's pet bunny!
>>43482235What was that question asked to that fat dude? What the name of the bakery Pinkie works at was? Thinking about it makes me kek all over again.
>>43482239The question was>where is Sugarcube Corner locatedand he got stuck because he thought he needed to remember the specific street of Ponyville it was on.
>>43482066Yes and no. Will it align with our version? No. We are unwelcoming elitists on average. However they will may capture the original (semi) pure state of it.
>>43482239town that sugar cube corner is in
>>43482246
>>43482239it was where the bakery was. kinda a retarded question desu since he probably didnt know what they meant (as in its already assumed to be in ponyville and he thought they were asking what region of ponyville it was at first)
>>43482066Hell no. Nothing good ever comes out of social media coupled with gen z. Gen Z is toast for the most part. Think about how they spent their most formative years locked indoors isolated and doomscrolling on social media. Gen Alpha might have better luck after seeing how social media and dating apps have fucked up the Zoomers.
>>43482066Nope. It was a lightning in a bottle moment, truly the last hurrah of the old internet. They may be joining the fandom in massive numbers, but they're only killing it. They're following trends, and have never had a single half-decent fandom of their own. They have no sense of fandom etiquette, and they're incapable of authentically expressing themselves. The ride will end for them, and the few who stay around will suffer an even worse fate. (think about "elder emos," they were all posers and kept being posers after the trend died out.)
>>43482390the same gen alpha that can't read and only watches 30 second tiktoks as their sole form of entertainment? I don't think so anon
>>43482124>Today's internet has gotten too divided yet too centralized at the same time. This is the key. There is no place on Twitter, Tiktok and Reddit except for the current popular thing which people then have feuds over. It's all artificially engineered. Fim grew into a decade-old fandom because of a fucking trollpost. Today a show needs to be on Netflix to stay relevant for 3 weeks.
>>43482232Makes me rabid when people call themselves Mlp fans because they think Pinkie Pie's design is funny. They haven't even watched a single episode. Commit to the autism or fuck off. I can't stand these retards and whores who want their "quirkiness" without paying for it. Legitimately enrages me. I dedicated my entire life to being a fucking weirdo and these bastards think it's funny hahahah I'm so different I watched one episode of digital faggotry hahahaa
>>43482066No, social media users are simply trend chasing consumers, they build nothing, once a new trend appears they move on, a whole generation of an evolved kind of fans of the fandom, fans of the concept of fandom
>>43482206bro WHERE are you finding the zoomers that do this. Please don't say that they're all girls because obviously foids are going to have double standards about what they think is acceptable to find sexy. All of them are completely larping interest in the show if you weren't already aware.
>>43482066No. Most of those Zoomer MLP accounts are either posers who needed a niche to farm engagement from, or are genuine but unwilling to partake in the fandom without hiding behind a million layers of irony. Nothing good will come from them, either way.
>>43482066>obsessed with drawing diversified mane six as humans>pony art is all overdesigned with puke-inducing detail filling every empty space>half praise Lauren thinking she made all 9 seasons, the other half hate her over trivial shit like Bridle Gossip and Over a Barrel because their indoctrination makes it impossible for them to imagine how a homogenous society would think>many hate bronies for "traumatizing" them, despite the fact that they love AUs, are insufferable about shipping, and make their own edgy/inappropriate contentStill, I have seen a decent amount of younger fans defending the earlier seasons and shitting on meme faces lately. Whether that's just performative foids latching onto that recent "Reasons MLP:FIM Falls Off" video for the moment or genuine belief, who knows.
>>43482900They don't do this, generally. It's all irony. You have about 100 fake horsefuckers (including women) for every 1 real horsefucker. At a con, I tried finding out about the brony community in my area by joining a discord, and I saw 1 man for every 10 or so women. Every single one of those women without fail were mouthbreathing retards who shop at hot topic and claim to be "alternative" despite being HUGE consumerists. The con itself was absolutely filled with women, almost all of which were cosplayers. No group in any fandom deserves more hate than cosplayers.
>>43484218>At a con, I tried finding out about the brony community in my area by joining a discord, and I saw 1 man for every 10 or so women [...] The con itself was absolutely filled with womenI mean is this not just things going "back to normal" in a way? This is the audience the show was originally made for. *We're* the weird interlopers who hijacked it.
>>43485285No faust made it for us its revisionist g3 activism from people like dwk and jim miller to say that we just ironically like a thing intended for little girls
>>43485285Yes, it's going back to normal. But we are the brony community. We are NOT normal. We should never be normal. A brony convention for the show's intended audience? The cons were started for bronies, by bronies. The fandom would never have had conventions if not for us. Also,>vylet tranny
>>43485293Are anons ever going to stop lying to themselves?
>>43482066>Do you think the resurgence of MLP made by Gen Zers on platforms like Twitter and Tiktok bring on a sort of revival of the Brony/MLP fandom like in the early days (2011-2014)? Why or why notNo because you literally cannot create any content on phone. Most of them don't have any computers to actually do something or are too tech illiterate to go out of their way to learn more than just how to use Google on there. The most basic things I had to help my little brother on a computer, fucking embarrassing.
>>43485933It's really pretty saddening that back in the previous fandom I was in (over 20 years ago) many people wanted to share their artwork but couldn't because they didn't have the technical tools for it (no scanner and definitely no tablet or any other digital drawing tools). One of them even MAILED another person his art so she could scan it and post it online for him. And now, everybody has all the technology they need to make whatever they want, and they semi-consciously choose not to use it because a brainwashing device in their pocket is literally all that their world revolves around. Amazing how much one device has damaged online participation.
>>43482066 No. People my age can’t dedicate themselves to something as simple as watching a series without needing external validation from social media in some shape or form and it fucking sucks. Maybe im just speaking for myself but I feel as if the small handful of genz that genuinely likes the show + fan creations (tamers, equestria at war, etc) usually doesnt even interact with the fanbase cause the vocal majority is trendhopping attention seeking normies + foids who give no credit/respect to the foundation the early 2010s fandom has already laid down.
>>43482066No it’s utter dogshit
What's all this about gen z apparently joining the mlp fandom en masse? Afaik the fandom has been the same since like 2017.
