Sitting here in my friend's house the night before Mare Day listening to everyone snoring and just unable to sleep. This con has seriously been one of the best con experiences I've ever had, best MF since 1 IMO. I got to see all my friends again, share cool stories and little gifts, and just be ourselves, all while vibing to pure ponetism. I can't express the feeling of contented happiness I'm feeling now. My friends are well, I'm well, and the fandom is well. We have so much to look forward to! From Nightmare Night to Neighcon coming back. Pone Voyage 2 is a sure shot for good times and we're just getting more new cons and even new people to cons. I met more than a few people for whom this was their first con or first since BC 2019. Man I had so much fun dragging some of these fags to our cultured room parties and just tossing them to the bar for some of the shit we had. Goddamn the random conversations that were had. The passionate arguments over our waifus. The singing, the laughing, the drunken mare chants. Even if the physical venue wasn't perfect it's staff were wonderful to us at every turn. They always said how much they loved us, and really we give them every reason to. So many of us have found a great community in Mare Fair and the ideas it stands for. No homo, I love you faggots with all my heart.

I had fun and will come back next year! That being said, it definitely felt different from previous years. A lot of first timers meant smaller portion of old timer Anons who know the culture and habits in and out. There were more circlejerks and the artist circlejerk broke into multiple insular circlejerks and I heard some look down on and talk shit about "rookies". It was almost impossible to listen to a lot of the panels because people kept talking during them. PTS wasn't as good as last year, but last year set the bar extremely high. The jannies did not stand out at all. I didn't even know we have any until the Friday concert when one came to check on someone on the floor and I read the text on the back; the 4cc style blended in way too much with all the 4cc shirts.It's a lot harder to point out what was good. I still rate it 7/10.

It's funny watching anons argue past each other for so long. It has been a huge issue with furries that they've just devolved into everything being about sex, and I'd hate for that to happen with this place. I think the issue with it being more prevalent at mare fair is only the fact that normies and furfags will take it to be what it isn't. I think it being 18+ shouldn't mean it's all about porn but for the most part I don't think it's gotten to that point yet. I haven't been watching the animations since fair flyer joined because Prince's voice makes me want to kill myself but I can still see the flanderization. AZ might have some good spots but then the issue is that anons would probably die if they were outside in nature without all their technology. Renting a cabin can be more expensive on the organizer but it's by far the better idea. If you end up getting this idea going I hope I catch the thread and can get in on it

They can be pretty costly, I looked a bit and found one that said it could sleep 35 people and it's cost was $12k for five nights. Split that between anons and for five nights that's a great deal, it just means you need to get that many anons involved. You could even try going over if the renter lets you have some anons sleep on furniture or the floor if they really want to. I'd probably look into smaller ones that hold around 20, they'd be much cheaper and if you fill up fast you can either try to swap to somewhere bigger or just go with it and plan a larger on the next year. Some of the locations probably want their grass to remain perfect and wouldn't allow camping but I'm sure there are also some who would allow it.

I think the times camping events were spoken about in the past, it was more leaning towards lake tahoe or nevada in general to try and be reachable to as many anons as possible. I do like some parts of AZ though so as long as it isn't basically in New Mexico, I'd make an attempt to go. I'm sure there are some nice non desert airbnbs that would work even in greater nevada.
