Welcome game devs and pony game aficionados! In this thread, you're all welcome to talk about everything related to pony game development, be it yours or other's; This includes mods, standalone games, projects either personal or in a team, or simply ideas you've got.If it's pony and it's a game it probably fits in here.Gaming thread to play (generally non-pony) games with other horse fuckers:>>>/mlp/Pony Gaming/create/ thread (rip tempo):https://boards.4chan.org/mlp/catalog#s=/create/Various resources:/agdg/ general tutorials and resources: https://hackmd.io/SNd2YQugRG-36CLYc8Og2w/create/ resource bin: https://ponepaste.org/9401/agdg/ threads in other boards:https://boards.4chan.org/vg/catalog#s=/agdg/https://boards.4chan.org/bant/catalog#s=/agdg/Pony game and gaming news websites:pony.gameshttps://www.equestriagaming.net/https://www.equestriadaily.com/search/label/GamePony steam curator:https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44758905-Small-Horse-Games/
>>43492298For the first post of this thread, I'll just say that pony.games development has continued and you'll see something new in the page soon-ish
>>43492298Nice to have a thread.Posting two projects I'm currently working on.The first is a port of My Little Investigation. The first case was already ported and released:>Windowshttps://u.pone.rs/itqesrrk.zip>Linuxhttps://u.pone.rs/xbfxsdrh.zip>Androidhttps://u.pone.rs/appfqlab.zip>Machttps://u.pone.rs/adfwntxm.zipI'm currently working on a case editor so it's easier to continue working on this, and so potentially we could create a /mlp/ project to work together on it.I would mostly need writefags at first to create the setting, skeleton, etc.One of the artists who worked on the game also released some stuff he created for it:https://disk.yandex.com/d/uTHMo4yYGoUN7wThere was a whole post about the Case 2 assets:https://www.equestriandreamers.com/2019/04/15/project-cancellation/They were at https://mega.nz/#!bcpWjK6a!bbgLuvDu-_Dsit3vvoQnipmrL-ZIGBDNNperfcEITH8, but the link is dead.
>>43492325The second project is a BFED port, since Flash is unfortunately dead.I'm actually pretty far on this one and just need to finish some less-bullshit scenes and intensively test what already exists. Here are some videos of it:https://u.pone.rs/nhsponuu.mp4https://u.pone.rs/fjjpyzfd.mp4https://u.pone.rs/eqnychvd.mp4https://u.pone.rs/pjxxznqx.mp4https://u.pone.rs/vyqyzgfw.mp4
I think it's great that this has its own thread in terms of sharing resources and dev feedback, but not so much in terms of promoting these projects to a potential and targeted player base.Don’t forget to promote them (even if it’s cross-posting) in the gaming thread at least, there are already some modders there who share their work and tend to generate more hype because that’s where the people who will genuinely sit down to play a videogame are (most /mlp/ anons doesn't care THAT much about vidya desu)anyways, looking forward to see all the projects!
>>43492298Let's gooo! Happy to be part of 4chin ponydev history. I'm the dude who made Honey's Pony Class for the /mlp/con jam. I liked it so much that I'm developing it further! In fact, I'm releasing a new build for /agdg/ demo day 70 with some minor changes. Let's hope that agdg anons are nice to a pony game...
>>43492408Yeah I was thinking this place being more like a hangout for the devs themselves to talk about the little details of their projects freely without feeling like they break the flow of the other threads. For visibility I 100% agree people should cross-post to get their game out there. And I know I've done plenty of shilling. But the pony games page is gonna have a section of upcoming games and updates, which will also be shown on the main page, as part of the re-design.
>>43492578There's a lot of gamejam games I'd love to see expansions for. I wanted to do one myself, but I lost the original files. Oops! Backup your shit, everypony :SI hope the ponies-to-be on the other boards enjoy your game. So cute...
>>43492333Checked
>>43492938That's actually Next Jam's theme!I should've put it in the OP... You can find the clock on the page. The theme is "resurrection". Either polish one of your projects or revive a dead one you've given up on or simply forgot.Or just... You know... Do what the word "resurrection" tells you to do.
Sweet, love to see this.
>>43492298Dev of Home: Equestria here. Project is paused until blob returns my message, which I hope will be ... sometime ...
Tempo/create was already fit for dev making, but I suppose we can have yet another thread. So much for changing the name to be more "inclusive"
>>43493227You're waiting on him for pony models, right?
>>43493280Yes. And worse, animations! There is no autorig possible for a walk-cycle animation with quadrapeds.
>>43493273I agree we should be using /create/, but I dunno why but people don't like using it. We'll test how this one goes and see if it turns into a bumpfest.
Is it possible to make a Super smash bros but ponies? Super smash hoovs/Super smash poniesi would provide the animationsyou would provide the code and the game mechanics
>>43493905anon if you can provide the animations unironically drop a burner email let's get in contact i would love to do this with you
>>43493907tajege9954@hebase.comsend your email address here for me to pick up and email you
>>43493907ok then, i will ass the questions on the thread itself
>>43493933wait im making one sorry!!
>>43493933i want to make only one pony playable, just for people to play. could it be anonpony? its just 4 color changes then?then, after being done with anonpony, i will be working on the many other ponies
12 years ago, i was learning to animate, and suddently found a specific file with a list of movement needed to create a playable character.this doc, is made by the original team "super smash ponies"
>>43493937i think we should do a mane 6 first like dashie so we have content to work off of because what definable features does anon have? first thing that comes to mind is like a big block of text >rape that he hits people with or a >rape beam and similar shitpost weaponry but dashie's fight mechanics could have a very easy set of skills that we could turn into attacks and movement
>>43493947lksjdfvlksjdfklsjv@proton.me
>>43493948exactly! anonpony could be the base base, attacks without personality, or the board culture instead, we just need to put the pieces toghether and think what will it be, alongside branding /mlp/ made it unquestionably.dashie would be too time consuming to make her special moves.. possible, but not impossible but, making a simpler pony then expanding to the second phase wich is mane 6, i think is a proper path. what do you think considering this?
>>43493962i sent you an email. do you have a dicksword we can communicate easier on?

>>43493982and, can i ask someone here to suggest an artstyle for the characters? just being MLP-DHX seems unoriginal
>>43493367I'm trying my best to scrounge my own animations together. You can even lift the mare now. She adjusts to terrain and plants her hoof on the ground on uneven (hoofing?) footing. https://u.pone.rs/aroiplqm.mp4They say you should build systems and not games; so right now I am focused on the mare moving around and existing right now before the map and artstyle and polish and such.
Has anyone tried dlss 5 with pony games? Sulphur Nimbus, official G5 3D games, LoE, etc.
>>43493987Could just be the old pointy ponies. It was popular enough at one point that there's a tag just for them even.Simple, easy to read what the model is doing, and different enough while staying true to characters unique traits
>>43493227Never heard of it. What's it about?
>>43494831Basically, I want to make Equestria real. You can read this to get an idea.>>43417611
I've always wanted to make my own pony OC version of Runescape. AI makes me feel uneasy because it takes away your excuses. If you had any real talent as a developer in the pre-AI era, you can now literally make your dream game but you still have to put in the time and effort.
Are there any other numget 3d models besides pic related?I'm thinking of modifying a custom weapon in UT2004 and making a numget launcher (after launching it, the numget attacks players, including yourself), but I need a model. The one in the attached pic is good, but I was interested in something less "cursed"Suggestions for other things (that already has a 3d model) besides a numget that I could use are welcome
>>43495219Huh. I kind of remember some VR videos of ponies that remind me of these. Were these yours or was that a different project? I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse, I just can't really remember much from the video.
>>43495672No, you're probably thinking of blob81, Celestia rest his soul. I'm continuing his work by trying to make something similar yet different and more fleshed out and life-like.
>>43492333>>43493933Nice to see some other anons from the old /bfed/ thread here! Since that thread is still dead, I guess I'll shill my stuff here as well. Close enough. Welcome back, /create/. I managed to get this working after all, but now I need to actually implement some kind of battle workings.
Around a month has passed since our last pomy.games update, we've been a bit busy but not idle! The next update is gonna be a big one! For now here's what we've got:>Resources page now has resources, go check it out! For now it's mostly the assets we used during the asset jam, but we'll upload stuff up for grabs in there every now and then. If you have something to submit email us using the email in the "about" page. We'll have a proper submission form in the future.>527 new games added! Go check them out!>New mirror! More backups!>M6 themes plus a Trixie one, because it was requested>/mlp/ ring compatibility. Look at the footer!>More visible NSFW and GORE toggles. >>43497057Not sure about mmo but i was considering the next MareQuest being a 3 player coop game. Networking is scary though...
https://u.pone.rs/dibhhtkf.mp4Walk speed and trot speed are different with consistent hoofie sequence steps. Also built a navmesh so they can wander around and detect collisions and obstacles and such. I'll be regenerating the terrain to be flatter later... maybe I'll use the TF2 map Equestria unless I can get my hands on those FUCKING blob81 files. God, I want that equestria map so bad. Just figuring out the first pony model now, working on Dashie's eyes as a vrchat-style shader eye with bones and such. It'll look 2.5d I hope.

>>43498412>using simple animation cyckes in 2026Anon, there are plenty of engies with built in foot placement planners. Sliding around is not the meta anymore.
>>43498904But it's not an animation cycle! That video shows that it's not! The animation in the video changes dynamically based on walking speed!
>>43498910Animation blending is not that advanced either.Don't get me wrong, somehow one's knowledge has to advance. And it is done step by step.On the other hand you will spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel if you don't use modern tech which already hands it over to you on a plate.
>>43498951I've never done gamedev before. This is purely a passion project. I agree. If you have more knowledge on the subject, I'll take you at your word, and look into it, and post my results.
>>43498412Oh hey. This looks pretty cool. Animation and 3D models is something im most likely going to do last for my own project, been putting it off since forever but I defo want something that looks like this. Made some basic placeholders for marecon gamejam and been using them ever since. You'll recognize most of this if you've watched it but if anyone around is more experienced in Blender I will gladly accept any help on that front.Speaking of the marecon gamejam. I've been tinkering and building on my game from that bit by bit ever since. The dialogue system got upgraded. I've redone the camera as I did not like the fixed one from earlier. Too many bugs. Which also required a complete re-do of the movement. No more point and click, and movement direction stays consistent with camera rotation! The entire interaction system got overhauled. (No more buggy prompts.) https://u.pone.rs/qoszgqhv.mp4A lot of IRL, /mlp/ gamejam and then Mare Fair. got in way of proper dev-time but now I am home and getting into proper work.
>>43499052she's moving too much for the small amount of hoof movement actually going on.
>>43498728its just to weed out people not interested in the project. its just gibberish i thought that could catch attention
Need help. This model looks like shit from the front. I can port the animation over by probably transplanting the head but, does anypony have a better 3d model I can use? Ignore the eyes.
>>43499627That's always going to be the case if you're going to try and make direct 3D representations of a 2D character. Plushies have the exact same issue as does the MLP mobile game, which they solve by just not letting the characters look straight. Some solve it by making the face flatter. You lose some of that eye side-profile but makes it more pleasant from the front. A different model will require a new rig, which is also dependent on what software we are converting from and to. There's a few 3D models going around. Here in the thread, on the web and on pony.games. Hell even the cursed Gmod models if you can extract them.

>>43500122ugh, gramatical errors....
>>43499627I think you might have to stylize them, if you go 1:1 show style it'll always look wrong. For example:https://derpibooru.org/images/1761126Doesn't look amazing but it's cute and that overwrites everything else.I also saw a video not so long ago of someonle facing a simialr problem, his solution was to "cheat" by having the eyes follow the camera so you didn't get that "horse looking straight at you" face. I can't find it though, if any other anon can it'd be greatly appreciated
I made this render of a scary robot pony for my game.

>>43499627I have transplanted the head of the openpony model from popen onto the body of the LOE mare using the walk animation and facial animations from both. Best of both worlds. I might add frankenstein stitches on the inside of the model's neck as a little easter egg. >IT'S ALIIIIIVE!!!!

There was a limit to how detailed I could make the movement since each of the main loops only has four frames, though. My previous attempts at making something like this took forever, so this was sort of an experiment to see how few frames I could get away with. I also put way more detail on the characters to imitate the G6 style this time, so it was a pain to draw them over and over.>You forgot the belly in the 3rd animation. Can you elaborate a bit? If you mean the red pony's belly, it wouldn't be visible since he's supposed to be lying down looking directly up at Dash.>Also more detail on the cockThis is something I've thought about a bit and I don't think I've quite figured it out yet. I want to make them look more detailed and horse-like than they do in the original game, but if I make them too detailed, it'll look out of place with how simple the rest of the characters are. It'd be like the joke of how you can tell what the artist's fetish is by what part of the drawing is weirdly detailed. Thanks for the critique!

>>43497978Networking is scary but most engines should have something built in that more or less works for most games. Or you can make the game turn based, in which case everything becomes much easier.
>>43506187the point would be to make fren yes. concept was you could do a lobby with your friends or host a server randos could join, maybe a hub where you could chill and watch videos and find others to actually play with. i really wanted to have a limited typing system where you start with like 3 characters and have to unlock more though puzzles to coordinate more difficult puzzles or something idk>>43506255yeah but turn based is kinda meh, i'd like for it to be realtimeall in all this is way beyond my current abilities and would be years down the road. the hardest part is just getting started with it honestly and i have too many ongoing projects to focus on it. plus the original MareQuest still needs a final update ive been putting off for years
New puzzle generation strategy is actually working!I already have a system for generating 7x7 sliding-block puzzles, and I'm now working on a way to combine several of those into a larger metapuzzle. The metapuzzle is defined in terms of high-level actions like "enter quadrant 0 from the north and exit from the south", where actually carrying out that action requires the player to push some blocks around within that quadrant to open a path. I have a system for generating these metapuzzles, but it's incredibly slow when run with full 7x7 quadrants. At that size it takes 2-3 days to run, and it isn't actually guaranteed to produce decent puzzles (I particularly want ones where two players can work together on the same puzzle from different sides). The new approach is to search for metapuzzles with 5x5 quadrants instead (which is much faster), pick out some good ones from the results, and then scale them up by searching for 7x7 puzzles that satisfy the same requirements as the 5x5 ones it initially used. So the initial search might produce a metapuzzle description that says "in quadrant 0, the player can cross from north to south, but not from north to east", along with a set of 5x5 puzzles satisfying that requirement which can be placed in quadrant 0. Then we would search for 7x7 puzzles that match the same requirement ("can cross N->S but not N->E") and use those to build a bigger version of the same metapuzzle. The test run today ran for 10 hours so far but successfully found some 7x7 puzzles matching the requirements for quadrant 0 (for two different pre-selected metapuzzles, not just one). Quadrants 1 and 2 are much simpler and are already halfway done. If quadrant 3 also produces some results overnight, then I think I'll finally have a viable strategy for generating these things.>>43506384>all in all this is way beyond my current abilities and would be years down the roadHave you tried prototyping a very basic online multiplayer thing, like just two ponies running around controlled by separate players? Might be worth working through a tutorial some time just to get an idea of what's provided by the engine vs what you have to handle yourself
>>43502630Shes just like me
The thing about GameDev is that it takes time UcU
I'm still having fun making a pony Runescape-like prototype. I had some ideas where you'd have the ability to equip multiple combat styles at once. Fight with a blade in your mouth, swap to a thrown weapon, then turn around and kick them in the face. Each one functions as its own combat skill. I'm thinking of having lots of individual skills with a linked skill gimmick. Let's say you're level 10 in Bridle Blade but you want to also try out the Corinet skill which is a dagger attached to the horseshoe. Since they're so related, you would gain 50% bonus exp from level 1-10 in the Corinet skill. Once they're even in level, they no longer give each other xp boosts. But if you leveled Corinet to 11, exceeding Bridle Blade, then you'd get 50% boost once you go back to training Bridle Blade.

It also has "anti training" which applies a penalty, so if you level up ice magic a bunch, it's harder to also level fire.

Finally have some new stuff to show off regarding FNAP's development.First of all, we have doors & a camera panel now!Doors are unfortunately not animated, but I'll get back to that...Camera meanwhile is basically all set to start adding different rooms. Also, text objects can have outlines now.The office is also redone with new props, but while I was in the middle of adding manual shading, I kind of paused and decided that I'd rather just make a Gmod map and screenshot everything directly, rather than trying to superimpose a bunch of stuff together (I'll still need to do manual shading on the Gmod screenshots, though). This would especially make animated doors 1000 times easier. So ultimately, I quit working on making the office look "good" until I get around to completely redoing it.In fact, I kind of gave up on aesthetic stuff *entirely* for the meanwhile. I want to put more focus on the game logic right now, so I'm just gonna do rather basic superimposing on the camera images. This way I'll have quick but functional placeholders while I put more focus into getting the camera switching & animatronics' behaviors programmed in. Get fucked. Have fun loosing all your data on that machine plus reinstalling windows if it decides to lock you out. After disabling bitlocker, want to run windows update? Get fucked. The update process will try to update the now non existing hidden bitlocker recovery partition and fail in a loop. You don't want your laptop to randomly wake up in your backpack cooking itself and draining the battery? Get fucked. It will randomly decide it's the best time to do a virus scan or IDK.You want a stable low latency wifi connection? Get fucked. The best time to scan nearby devices is NOW!Want your audio volume to be stable? Get fucked. Windows will forcefully auto gain the output volume because reasons. Have fun listening to music with fluctuating volume. To fix it btw, you have to delete INTERNET EXPLORER SETTINGS in the registry on windows 11. A software which is not even installed on that shit OS.Want to put your machine to sleep remotely? Get fucked. It will ignore it completely, no workaround. The times when linux was a struggle are a myth at this point. I have a tenth as much issues with my 3 linux machines in total, than I have with my single windows machine. Last time I actually had a truly "linux" problem was like 5 years ago. And that was because I wanted to completely disable the dedicated GPU.The only reason I use windows on one of my machine is some programs which don't play nicely with linux eg photoshop, full visual studio for windows app signing (kinda hard to sign a windows app on linux), and HDR on oled screens.

>>43521034Bad enough that linux just works without issues or any tweaking required. And please explain to me which one is skill issue, and how to solve it. My solution was to switch to linux 10 years ago on my machine I use for development.>>43521036I have no idea. Used to work. Then a random forced windows/driver update installed and now it does not work. Tried a fresh windows install + updates, same issue. Tried a bunch of different GPU drivers too. Now it randomly decides to drop the second monitor or just display garbage on both screens until I disconnect one of them. The funny thing is just disabling the second monitor does not help, only physically unplugging it works (aka windows not seeing a connected screen and is not able to enumerate EDID info). Even if its powered off windows is displaying garbage on the other screen FFS. Plugging one into the integrated card the other into the thunderbolt dock does not help either. If two external monitors are plugged in it's fucked. Not to mention that sometimes it decides that 30Hz is the maximum refresh rate on the primary monitor at 4k because reasons. I have 0 idea why it is doing what it is doing. Reboot usually solve, but sometimes not. Funny thing is that the built in screen in the laptop is also 4k and internal + external 4k works. So it's not like it's running out of RAMDAC bandwidth or something to drive the monitors. And it's not a fancy laptop, there is no dedicated GPU either in this one. Just whatever is in the core i5-12500H.As I said, same machine works flawlessly with two external monitors at 4k 60hz under linux.Windows is literarily preventing me to use the second monitor as a digital photo frame displaying random pony art. That's the second monitor's job like 90% of the time. I have like 60k individually selected images displaying in random order.Oh I totally forgot that windows can't even handle PNGs as background images if it has transparency. It treats partially transparent pixels as full bright in some cases. Never figured out what's the actual issue, because for some images it does work, for some it does not. PNG can have funky color encodings (like indexed color). At least windows 10 used to fuck it up to the point that I wrote a custom photoshop script to convert all to a format windows likes. And another windows quirk: did you know that you can't change display resolution? What you are actually changeing is the desktop render resolution, windows will upscale/downscale to the best resolution it decides that the monitor should be driven with. Do you have an old 4k TV with only HDMI 1.4? Get fucked, windows will use 4k 30Hz. If you switch to 1080p then it will render at 1080p, then upscale it to 4k and drive the screen at 4k 30hz. No 1080p 60Hz for you under games. You can force 1080p 60Hz output in the desktop, but for a fullscreen game it will use 4k 30Hz regardless what the game renders at.
>>43520992>Want to not randomly reboot for updates in the middle of the night while you are rendering? Get fucked. Update time!I did some obscure group policy hack on my work laptop to get it to at least warn me before it decides to reboot. Now it will sometimes put a little windows update notification on the lock screen to let me know that it's gonna reboot tonight. But it only shows up once (if you miss it or forget that you saw it then sucks to be you) and half the time it just never shows up at all. Still, it's better than the default behavior, which IIRC is to show a notification for 15 seconds when it's 4 hours until update time (i.e. at 10pm when I'm obviously not looking at my work computer at all)>You don't want your laptop to randomly wake up in your backpack cooking itself and draining the battery? Get fucked. It will randomly decide it's the best time to do a virus scan or IDK.It also does this, no idea how to fix it
>>43521109>It treats partially transparent pixels as full bright in some cases. Never figured out what's the actual issue, because for some images it does work, for some it does notPNG stores color information even for fully transparent pixels. Depending on how the image was made, this could be white, black, or something else. Sounds like windows is just ignoring the alpha channel and showing whatever color is there.
>>43521113>some obscure group policy hackAnd it breaks after a random update. It silently "fixes" itself so it's able to reboot. You only notice it after it happens and screws you over.At this point I have given up. I don't use windows machines for any critical work where a random reboot can wipe two weeks worth of work (eg I'm debugging a really really complex scenario in a multithreaded application, carefully stepping 8-10 threads, setting up events/memory just right, etc).I particularly like that windows can ask an application if it can shut down and the application can answer with "no don't do that". This is when you receive that screen where it tells you XY is still running do you really want to shut down/restart. Windows update just ignores this and forcefully kills the application.>>43521122It's not ignoring it. For most images it does work. Only the ones with partial transparency break, but again not all, most of them work. When it happens the outline becomes surrounded with large full bright squares. Like some kind of decoding issue.

>>43523275I'm nervous because things are going suspiciously smoothly for me so far. I'm about 1 month vibecoding in Rust and I know zero Rust. I do have full stack web dev experience pre-AI though. I spent 33% of my weekly usage tokens today breaking my pseudo-server architecture into actual server architecture. It's not syncing everything yet, but it's still amazing me every day.
>>43523816Rust is probably a good choice for vibecoding since the compiler is so strict. Lots of stuff where if the AI fucks it up, it gets an error immediately and fixes it, instead of it breaking but only under some obscure circumstances that the AI didn't test. What's the design of the networking look like? How much are you steering the AI in terms of design/architecture? It sounds like it's all DIY instead of using an existing library of some kind? Netcode is complicated enough that I wouldn't trust the AI to get it right at all.
>>43523908Foundation of the game is Bevy ecs in Rust. Compilation set to work in desktop, wasm, and a headless server. Everything is coded to also work with the wasm/desktop being its own psuedo-server for single player. I spent about 500 hours years back in typescript learning how to code runescape-like systems and settled on an ecs architecture. The first thing I did a month ago was port some my old code and json configs to Rust because I had heard of Bevy before. I made it separate the rendering and server logic into two folders, running two separate instances of Bevy, with the psuedo server one running on a 100ms tick. For the actual networking refactor today, I did a long chat session and review before deciding what it thought were the best options for eventually hosting on a real vps. It chose the tokio-tungstenite on server and ewebsock on client. I don't have any experience in TCP vs UDP games but it seemed to suggest that TCP wold be fine for 100ms ticks and I saw that the open source 2004 scape used TCP. There's a couple of things I still have to sync like the direction the trees fall, and I have to redo the butterflies, but I think it's good that I'm looking at the actual server early so that I can catch when I screw up server syncing as I go. I love that vibecoding has gotten so good it actually can follow really detailed instructions. I made this cool tracking radial right click menu with one big foundation prompt and just a few fixes. The AI also does weird and cool things unprompted like dropped items stacking in a corkscrew pattern.
Slightly gone in and revamped my older low poly pony models, so I suppose this is V3. Wanted to attach the legs to the actual mesh, mostly for texture alignments but I suppose it could also help if folks wanted to rig them. I don't really have any intentions on that myself since they're nothing more than small collectibles but if anybody had a use for them I'm fine with sharing them. Made the head a little more pointed to the front as well, might help with their goofy front-facing view.Sorta changed how the UVs are laid out too so hopefully it'll still allow enough space for the mane and tail, but I suppose we'll find out.Flanks now included.

It's amazing how AI can just rig and animate 3d models now too. Got a derpy walk cycle going.
>>43527681Ever thought about learning how to do that yourself?
>>43527763No. I'm an AI maximalist. I specifically chose a game engine that has no visual editor and all models in the game will be created as python files that are generated through headless blender. The human input that matters now is wrangling the architecture so that AI doesn't step on itself and make it impossible for it to continue. I'm a lifelong programmer, not an artist. Pic related is my actual pre-ai attempt at this game. I said 500 hours in my other post but it was probably closer to 800 hours to make this. So much time was spent just on total bullshit like learning ECS vs phaser's game object loop, wondering if I should use observable mobx and react or if it's too slow, playing with dumb libraries, and trying to set up a map in ldtk. In the end, I made lots of working foundations for runescape style systems but the time it took killed all motivation to continue. AI is a dream come true for me because it distills programming down to the essence of what it was always trying to be: instructing a computer to do something.
