considering how Twilight became an alicorn with MMC, it was actually at the end of season 3 that the show genuinely lost the plot. I like season 4 but I can only be in terms with it if I treated as a simple epilogue and not as "there's five seasons left to go btw"

S1 and S2 are the best, but season 4 is still worth watching. Season 3 and 5 are okay even if they have quite the flaws. Almost anything from season 6 to 9 is a slog to get through, especially season 8.
