Vote here: https://strawpoll.com/Q0Zp77e7DgMDefine "masculine" however you wish. I think this question is interesting, as despite being a mare, Rainbow Dash is more stereotypically masculine than Spike in some ways.Image source: https://manebooru.art/images/1571746

From the other thread:People severely overestimate how masculine Dashie is. She's athletic and cocky sure, but she's still a girl and she constantly hangs with her girlfriends and has no problem doing feminine stuff with them all the time. Did she even have any guy friends in the show? She's also pretty damn feminine when it comes to how she expresses her emotions and wants validation. She's an extraverted girl who isn't sterotpyically feminine in the way Fluttershy or Rarity, but she is obviously still feminine, and much more so than like 90% of guys. What type of guy would show the public affection that she shows with her friends? Spike is more masculine than her, it's not remotely close. If any guy expressed his emotions like Dasbie did, he would be seen as weak annoying laughingstock. Men and women are very different, while their venn diagrams in personalities may overlap a little, it overlaps far less than most people think. Superficial interests are what actually overlap far more (Dashie's superficial interests are very stereotypically masculine, which is a huge factor leading people to far overestimate her masculinity). But superficial interests don't translate to actual masculinity or actual femininity. I could admittedly see Dasbie having a good time screwing around with a group of guys, but she would never truly be one of the guys, and she would not properly handle true masculine camaraderie. She prefers feminine camaraderie with her girlfriends, as like 99% of women do. They are literally women after all! Dashie would literally fit in perfectly as one of the more confident and cocky girls in any teen movie, she's not that tomboyish. Just think about how Dashie would be extremely likely to be a cheerleader, it fits all of her interests to an absolute tee. It requires quick athletic coordination, she'd get to be flashy and show off, she'd get to work as a team with other girls to motivate everybody. Her and Pinkie Pie are far and away the 2 ponies I'd say are most likely to be cheerleaders. What type of actually masculine guy would be interested in cheerleading? Would Spike be interested in cheerleading in any way?
>>43521701The obvious answer is Spike. There's nothing more masculine than wanting to fuck a mare, and Spike's been fiending for squash soup since day 1. Not to mention that any and every mare in the Crystal Empire would present if he gave the word.
I just don't see how there's any argument that Dash is masculineSpike is effeminate for a boy and for a dragon (which are essentially the same thing outside of Ember) but he's still wel within the spectrum of regular dudes. He's effeminate in the way that a nerd is effeminate, he's not actually girly. Just 'less of a man' than Torch. And he's a kid, raised in womanopolis by the metaphorical daughter of the icon of femininity, so no shit.Dash is a girl. Just straight up. The girls I know that are most similar to Dash were horse girls, and they're girly girls, even.>>43521714>WonderboltsThe leader and significant majority of current and past Wonderbolts are women. Accounting for the show's gender ratio, it's obviously a gender neutral ambition, and absolutely nowhere is it implied to be masculine or feminine. It's something which every pegasus trains for and which the majority of Cloudsdale take a great interest in.
>>43521755Heck, id say Applejack is more tomboyish than Dashie
>>43521701If this is some g6 fag roaming the fields for tips, maje Spike more masculine in the show. It's bad enough the poor fuck was voiced by a female in g4, i want justice for this little shit.
>>43521847She's more masculine, certainly.I feel like tomboy is a loaded term and Dash is more of a tomboy. Dash likes rough and tumble play. She's a menace. As a child, you'd obviously say Dash is a tomboy and AJ is just a product of her environment.Like Dash cares about being cool. That's not manly but it is boyish.
The wrong idea that dashie is basically a guy in a girls body (not in a tranny way just in a personality way) has caused a lot of misconceptions about her character. I challenge one to find a single example in seasons 1-5 of Dashie disliking something feminine. (That season 9 episode where she hated cheerleading was completely out of character for her, its a sport she would respect and may even join as >>43521736 said)
>>43521880>challenge one to find a single example in seasons 1-5 of Dashie disliking something feminine.Uh, that's super easy. She doesn't like wearing Rarity's dresses and she's bitching about the dress she had to wear at a formal event (I forgot which episode). Boom, done.
>>43522145I cant think of her ever disliking wearing dresses. If you are referring to the scene in Swarm of the Century where is complains about trying on a dress, its clearly because she has to stand still and is bored.
>>43521701>spike>masculine
>>43522428He's more masculine than the girl lol
