I can vibe with most of this, but I'd argue that Friendship is Magic Part 2 is one of the most detrimental episodes in the entire show. It's meant to be the pilot that brings people in, yet it bombs nearly all the intrigue that Part 1 sets up with contrived writing and rushed resolutions. People who otherwise might have stuck through more of season 1 likely dropped it here due to this and never became bronies.
