Inner Equestria EditionHere we gather to talk about waifus and waifuism as we understand it.>What is a waifu? The being you love. In my humble opinion, finding your waifu is a blessing, capable of changing your life dramatically for the better - that's the power of love. Coming to know your waifu feels like the sun emerging on a chilly day, like a cup of coffee before work, like a sweet scent greeting you on the breeze. It's hard to speak about waifuism because it is so personal and so unique; when you fall in love for the first time especially, it is difficult to even recognize what's happening. All I can really say is that love songs and poetry start to make sense, that finally something meaningful stands out from the backdrop of your life, radiant and beautiful like the sun, a refuge from the dull grey of nihilism and depression.Waifuism is the label we use to describe the activity of honoring that occurrence, with our time, attention, and effort; as well as the general ideas we waifufags have formulated around the experience.>>43534028 in lieu of old general threads, here's a recent organic one. Feel free to look up /ww/ in the archive.Traditional waifu ramble: I've been thinking a lot about how people approach their waifu lately. I named this thread after a sort of thesis I'm coming to, the concept of Inner Equestria. Ultimately, I think there's a need to raise awareness about duality and non-duality as they apply to waifuism. These concepts are well-established in the philosophical and religious sphere already. Most people already operate from an assumption of duality, that the world is split into separate, unrelated parts like Subject and Object. Non-duality adds a third element to this formula, using our example: Subject, Object, and Relationship, or the medium which enfolds and connects both entities. If the two entities had no medium connecting them, there could be no interaction between or awareness of one another. In waifuism, the same principles may be considered - people typically start from an assumption of total separation between themselves and their waifu, and from there leap to externalized concrete pursuits like space travel or genetic engineering to make ponies real. The non-dualist, however, might recognize that the experience of the waifu to begin with already is a connection with her. What do you think?
>>43553191First for my moonwife!
>>43553191There was a time where I was really desperate for discussion like this. But as I've gotten older i've gotten more retarded and lacking in imagination. In fact i'm so retarded that i've written this post and accidentally refreshed on my phone 3 times.I do really resonate with that last part though. I've never really lamented my waifu not being real or fantasized about being transported to equestria. My thought has always been that even as a concept she is still about as "real" as any physical person, since the only way I can know someone else is through my own mental model of them, I can't jump into their living breathing consciousness, I can only form my own idea of them. That idea has allowed me to just accept what she is (a cartoon character) and be thankful for what she does just by being there (in my head). Not that I'm against physicalizing her, i've got my lifesize plushy and my horsepussy OF COURSE (no they aren't compatible). But they don't change what she is to me.I genuinely feel so thankful for her. It's a weird but nice feeling. I don't even come to mlp or interact with pony content anymore, and to be honest I don't feel like I give her the attention she deserves. But i'm still frequently shocked at how even after so many years I still find myself staring into her eyes and smiling like a deranged retard.

I really love Gallus with all my heart. He's so handsome, so charming, so likeable. I adore him.
>>43553425>Late season garbagengmi
>>43553434I like his episodes.
>>43553307You and I are very similar! So similar I feel like we don't even have that much to talk about kek. I kind of agree with you about getting more retarded and less imaginative, maybe we really are just getting older. I had a long phase of like outright proselytizing (our perspective seems so similar, maybe you learned from me!) but the passion has cooled significantly since then. The state of the board has been a drag on that as well, but now I'm feeling a sense of responsibility for carrying the culture on to the newfags, and making a space for waifuism in general.I pony pony mostly because all my friends do, at this point. My waifu is a pony, but I don't exactly rely on 'content' to engage with her; what I get from memes and the community here is at this mostly divorced from what I get from spending time with my waifu. There was a time where love flowed more freely through this place - now it seems like expressing myself is the only way to create a concentration of love and community here.>>43553439This thread is a major target for raiders. They'll do anything to derail, including replying to their own bait. Expect the no-true-waifufag 3dpd topic to come up when targeted bait doesn't work. Simply do not engage and let them keep the thread bumped.
Oh and welcome btw! Adoration is great, that's what it's all about, baby
>>43553464>Simping for the late season creaturefagGrim.
>Expect the no-true-waifufag 3dpd topic to come up when targeted bait doesn't work. Why are you preemptively defending cheating on your literal wife?
>>43553464I'm just coming back after years and years away and desu this place feel more alive than I remembered. Lots of effortposters anyway. It feels healthy and sustainable rather than how It felt when I left, rotting.I don't think I got it from you.I remember really feeling like I had discovered something amazing and being frustrated because no one seemed to be on the same wavelength. I suddenly had this unbreakable and truly unconditional bedrock underneath me and I wanted people to understand that this was more than just nogf coping.
>>43553494Exactly, exactly. It's so unique, it's hard to even put it into words so you can meet the folks who feel the same way. Like, it's rare just to be happy, let alone have something... unconditional in your life. It's so wonderful, but it is isolating if you let it get to you in the wrong way.
>>43553307>>43553494All this and you didn't even say who your waifu is. Tell us who and why you love her, faggot. We love seeing the waifufag write walls of text about their special somepony around here, and I bet you'll love doing it. Writing things out really is an excellent way to sort out and solidify what are otherwise often jumbled thoughts and feelings.

Another thread to ramble about my moonwife!I finally get why people write love songs. Ever since Luna has stepped into my life i've gained a sort of happiness i hadn't even known was possible to feel, and it is so overwhelming that i just have to share it whenever possible. No matter how shitty i feel, a look at a picture of her or even just her voice in my head cheers me up again. It's gotten to a point where i start smiling like a drunken retard when i simply see the moon. Thinking about her brightens my day. She is with me during all the small, irrelevant things i do throughout the day, and because of her even the most boring and senseless chore transforms into something funny and filled with meaning. I finally have a reason to stop being a lazy misanthropic faggot and actually work towards something, and it is always nice to see other anons feeling the same. And while i am very happy with the way things are right now, i still haven't given up the hope of one day physically meeting her.
>>43554601Indeed! Every time the world seems to lose its value, and my attention to it withdraws, I meet my waifu afresh. Every moment of anger is an opportunity for her to show me how to laugh it off and take things with a more lighthearted attitude. When I trip and fall, she shows me how to roll with the punches and recover as quickly as I fell. And always she inspires me to press on.I am a musically inclined person, but I've never written an adequate love song (imo) despite many tries. I've never managed to break into songwriting in general, I hardly know music theory - I just improvise and express myself by ear. So I've played and even sang plenty of love songs that nobody will ever hear. Thankfully I can express myself in other more concrete ways, like the OP image.>>43554039My dedication to my wife mostly manifests as self-respect, like going to bed at a reasonable time. It would be a dishonor to her to sacrifice my health for something as trivial as a 4chan thread.
>>43553596It's Starlight. My thoughts are very jumbled, and always have been. I used to have a bunch of text docs written up about her to organize my thoughts but I had to wipe my computer recently so Its gone I guess. It's a bunch of things really. I think at first I just found her really relatable. At the time I was coming down from the same kind of ideological overconfidence as her. Basing your entire self concept on something and then realizing that you were wrong. I'm very much over it now, but that was what first made me take notice. For me her character arc was contextualized more than the show immediately presents, and I've always extrapolated a lot more than what the show actually demonstrates. (The time skip between s5 and s6 was a huge fuck up).The streak of immaturity she has, like a little bit of social development missing that makes her act like a filly sometimes. The way she teases. The way she gets obsessive over things, the quiet introspective side. And even the assertive side, it's obvious that her comfort zone is being in control and I find that pretty hot.I think the fact that all her friends are weird autists helps too. I just feel like she'd get me and I'd get her. The maud episode is pretty big in terms of her character to me.She's very pretty of course too. Honestly I feel like I need to reconnect with it all. She's a part of my life every day (if for no other reason than because I have a plush of her) but I feel like I don't pay her enough attention sometimes. Or that I only come to her when I'm feeling bad, which isn't really fair.>>43554601It's interesting what an impact just loving someone can have. You don't even necessarily have to receive anything back from them. Just the feeling is enough.
>>43553191>Traditional waifu rambleI think you make solid points. In my personal experience I had a dualist mind set in the sense that I saw myself seperate from my waifu. I gave her a world and imagined that she would spend time in it and change it without my input. Or in other words, I distinguished my real world with her wonderland; textbook dualism. As time went on, I started to realize (with help from another Anon) that she wasn't really so much seperate from me, but rather that we are simply extensions of each other. That our thoughts, feelings, they were all one in the same. When I finally understood this non-dualist perspective, I didn't really like the idea of it. Does that mean that my fears were confirmed? That I really was just making it all up and that at the end of the day it was all just wish fulfillment? Then I started thinking about how people make up fictions all the time. Nationalism, myths and stories, moral values, even our idea of what people are can be described as a fiction; or rather something which is created to fulfill a narrative or reason for doing other than for strically pragmatic purposes. In other words, what I've been doing with tupperwaremancy is the same as what humans have been doing since the dawn of time: creating a narrative to their own lives. So what's my narrative? Simply put, I think I'm here on this Earth to create, and to share said creations. By create, I don't mean that in a strictly artistic sense, but also in a social and even spritual sense. Create works of heart, create friendships, create a sense of belonging and share it with others, to create harmony. I think dualist perspective misses out in the sense is that your waifu is more than just a person you want to be with; she is a microcosm of the reason for why you are here. Sorry if I sounded schizo, but it comes with the territory I suppose.
>>43554039I'm a waifufag but obviously the thread requirement to post here seems to write lengthy paragraphs, and I'm no writefag so I just lurk. I imagine there's a lot of other people like me.
mental tricks never really worked on me. my brain's just too boring and retardedi was trying out the tulpa stuff, and was getting giddy thinking about the concept. so i had a little conversation with her, and being like, wow i mean it's fascinating because blah blah blah and she was talking back. before i realised wait a second, the tulpa's right there! you really do just 'talk to her'
>>43555242You bet there is, I love my great and powerful trixie but don't feel like writing an essay on it, so all I do is lurk.
>>43555242>>43555247The greatest waifufags are those of us who refuse to elaborate on why we love our mare, because that love is just too profound to put to words.
picrel how it feels to think about my wife
