Animators don't use exaggeration. For example where he shouts "GREAT DAY!" his movement doesn't emphasize the excitement, he stays static. Jan here would have made him bob up on GREAT and re-bob harder on DAY. The whole animation really looks like mimicking Jan.

>>43590755I've become more of a person who can enjoy good drawings even if the writing is bad, but this trailer feels too detached from the cultural context of the 2010's to feel genuine to JanAnimations. It looks really close the original Button's Adventures, but in the same way that late seasons of FiM did to early seasons. There's something in the voice acting and various small details that really tells how this people don't have any of the same life experiences that millennials of old did. Just how many modern videogames feel as wrong as they do because they're only inspired by videogames of old, this attempt to revive an old MLP fanwork gives the impression of getting produced by people who only watches MLP fanworks.

The reason why the Humgonian scene was funny in the original episode is because you were not expecting for her mom to also be into the same nerdy hobbies that he was, but this callback has this annoying "I know what that is!" energy that has been present in too much modern fiction.
