I like how Fluttershy is just the retarded one and the cowardly one and she has a useless job and she can be annoying sometimes and she's a horrible sister who sees a fucking rabbit more as her brother than her real brother, but it's okay because she's a smoking hot damsel in distress.
>>
If you still think Starlight's village was "socialism" or "communism" and haven't yet figured out that it was, in reality, a fascist right-wing dictatorship that very dishonestly preached "equality" to hide the fact that what Starlight was actually doing was subjugation.....then I'm sorry, but you're stupid. Like, really, REALLY stupid. It wasn't an example of "equality gone too far", the village literally was just not an example of equality at all in the first place.

Straight up, if you took the "equality" shit at face value and you still think her village was an example of any kind of remotely left-leaning ideology then holy FUCK you are actually fucking retarded and media-illiterate.

>she has a useless job
Fluttershy effectively buffers the Everfree Forest from the rest of ponyville. She has her animals job but I mostly see her as involved in a defense/security position. She's also the go-between with Zecora and one of the only ponies that goes out into the forest looking for herbs. Before Zecora she probably was the only source of stuff from the Everfree for a lot of Ponyville and Ponyville almost certainly exports/onsells Everfree products at a massive markup (we even know this for sure with some things like Zap Apples).

I feel like she's second to Pinkie in regional importance at the start of the show. Dash might have a more influential position in the community but it's also something that the next-best pegasus could slot into and take over tomorrow or probably does pretty often when the M6 are on adventures.

Naturally. This is easily explainable as follows:
>Pinkie Pie
Pinkie Pie runs a busines (or at least is part of a business: Sugarcube Corner). She can recognize that enforced conformity and sameness would fuck with the business model and likely result in it folding. So, Pinkie would hat it.
>Fluttershy
Though not explicitly shown in the show, Fluttershy probably works for the Equestrian Ministry of Forests and Resources, as some sort of analyst on the overall health of various species and ecologies in and around Ponyville. Thus, top-down authority and enforced regulation would seem very natural and comfortable to her. So, she would be less skeptical of the village

It's just silly to bring up Orwell's anti-Stalin screed as an objective descriptor of how the real world works. What Marx wanted to eliminate is capital and the market, because it only benefits a social class that remains the governing force of the world, imposing its morality without dispute (for example, Jewsbro exporting wokeness, AIs restricting “unsafe” content, etc.); that is, man is a slave and subject of whoever has capital. Unlike the anarchists, who believe the state is a kind of entity and unit of domination, Marx asks why that entity CAN dominate over a mass; the answer is obvious: it cannot. The state is only an instrument of domination; by itself it is useless if no one uses it. Power is not a feeling or an attitude toward the other; it is material, it is real, it needs something to enable it, and precisely that something is capital, which he criticizes, and the market. Hence the proclamation “To everyone according to their needs and to each according to their qualities.” Put this way, the one who works more will indeed continue to have more; that is why in the USSR scientists, artists, and relevant figures were the country’s elite because they strove harder to get there. The difference is that this elite only had better conditions, not the effective and real capacity to impose morality or their beliefs on others; the same happens in present-day China even though it has a market system. Starlight Glimmer’s village is rather “utopian socialism,” an egalitarian anarchist commune, but not in itself Marxism-style communism, nor is it authoritarianism, because Glimmer is not a villain; Twilight ends up agreeing with her but does not agree with the solution. It is also true that the cutie mark system is already in itself a naturalistic imposition; I mean, in the end you are good at only one thing, and you do not have the freedom to change profession. In fact, in economic theory this is known as “specialism,” and Ricardo, for example, describes it in his book on the principles of economy and taxation; it is a basis of the capitalist system because, with productivity as the only basis, changing profession means learning something new at the cost of productivity. Marx also criticized the latter; he considers that a man who cannot change profession and take up other things if he undertakes it is not free, even if he renounces or momentarily sacrifices productivity, because in the end the system already produces goods in excess and there is no sense in specializing in something that cannot be improved further. Fluttershy communes more with that free spirit, because nature is not a specialist; it is evolutionary and adapts despite the risk of death. Our own cells prove that all the time, even though some of them take the form of cancer; that is why Glimmer’s idea appeals more to a free spirit than to a lamb of the system.

What exactly makes Starlight’s town an anarchist community? Can you prove it?
>why that entity CAN dominate over a mass
Because we as a species were engineered to serve the Anunnaki, most likely. Horsies don't seem to have the same built-in backdoors. It makes it hard and often nonsensical to apply our political categories to them.

pinkie and flutters are both equally worst pony and they should of dropped them for rarity and aj in g^ instead
>>
>>43631143
>anarchist community?
To begin with, it is the anarchists who seek egalitarianism; if you have read political theory, you should know that anarchism has far more forms than communism. It is the ideology with the most organizational and ideological diversity: there is vertical anarchism, syndical anarchism, which advocates total equality of condition, distributive and mandatory tasks, and a union representative tasked with assigning tasks that have no social benefit, who leads the same austere life. The village fulfills all those purposes because Glimmer never obtained economic benefits, so you cannot go down that road; she really defended what she believed. It is a discourse against the “Diversity” of cutie marks, and it advocates equality because equality is freedom for anarchism, since an imposed profession does not allow a free spirit. Bakunin also portrays this many times: the contradiction that a single job is free only because you have no other choice, so the community distributes the hardest jobs among everyone so that afterward each person can devote themselves to what they like most. That was what Glimmer proposed; it went wrong because the script is anti-anarchist and pro-DEI. It is obvious, since methodological individualism is part of zog mutt culture. In any case, I am not defending that idea.
>Because we as a species were engineered to serve the Anunnaki
Copium mutt who explains nothing trying to naturalize servitude to Judaism, /x/ is on that way anon.
>Except for glowniggers who had both and then some.
Your own glowies in their declassified reports admit that Soviet officials had living conditions many times worse than those of the average citizen, more austere and more sacrificial. And that they precisely took advantage of this, offering them conditions of wealth and protection if they betrayed or leaked sensitive information; that is where the black market was born. This is known as a fifth column, and it was a war tactic. No system is perfect, but the accusations you mutts make about communism are jewish delusions.

>Not without an enormous loss of productivity. From her first appearance, it's established that Dash can do in seconds what might take an entire team of pegasi hours.
I don't see where you're getting that from. Outside of the Rainboom (which she can't do at that point) Dash isn't much more effective than other pegasi. Twilight Sparkle doesn't understand that she can clear the sky in ten seconds flat, but we see other Pegasi doing pretty much the same things with clouds just as easily as Rainbow Dash all the time. Like, in Hurricane Fluttershy we get a pretty objective measure of Dash's weather contribution and it's about 50% higher than other trained (many subaverage!) pegasi. That's not some enormous gulf where she can't be efficiently replaced. And other villages don't have a Rainbow Dash and are getting along just fine with their <16 wingspeed weather captain as well.

The main pony that's shocked by how effective Rainbow Dash is is S1 Twilight, who is a known racist that doesn't believe other pony tribes have significant talents or relevance.

>and for that matter it only measures speed or flight force or something like that
It measures flight force in some form of air displacement or whatever which seems to relate specifically to weather magic stuff like making the tornado.
When it comes to physical performance in both strength and speed Fluttershy is mostly able to match boomless Dash despite being by far the worst pony on the wing scale.
>Among other things that could put her ahead, Rainbow certainly has technique.
Let's not pretend that like 50% or more of all pegasi don't have the same lifestyle and ambitions as Dash.

That's what bothered me about Hurricane Fluttershy, the writers forgot that Fluttershy was able to catch a slightly nerfed Dash while pulling a heavy balloon carrying other ponies at high speed. Being shy isn't a vice in itself. Sure, it can get in the way, but it can be a counterbalance to the arrogance or inconsideration of the other ponies. And she's really only stupidly shy in the later seasons, s1 flutters was very shy but also a bit more socially unaware and a bit clueless as opposed to a doormat later on

Yea season 1 Flutters was really not so shy compared to how she was portrayed later on. She probably got hit with the flanderization stick the worst of anypony. >>43643996
Yeah it's a weird episode for a couple reasons. The Flutterfilly backstory with Dash also feels like an early example of a meaningful retcon/something being written that certainly hadn't informed a lot of earlier episodes where, in theory, it should have if this was a real world with a consistent backstory from the beginning.

That said it's still easy enough to square what we see in a number of ways
>Fluttershy is just bad at weather magic specifically and physically she's not as far off
>The entire episode is just about performance anxiety and Fluttershy has an actual wing power of 10+ at the end since she's above average and has the fruits of her training
>Fluttershy performs under pressure but her daily output is way lower than when she's on M6 adventures or in the hurricane and other ponies are depending on her
etc.

In mid-late seasons they make really explicit something which has always been true that pony throughput is extremely dependent on emotions. So I don't really mind ponies clocking inconsistent scores on systematic tests so much, but it would have been better if they were more consistent yeah.

I mean that's fair, but in The Cutie Map she is essentially torn between two authority figures and systems of heavy-hoofed, top down absolute governance. She basically likes Starlight and it seems she would probably be happy to live in the town even despite the injustice inflicted upon herself if it wasn't for the fact that it hurt her friends, and the only reason she acts against them originally is because Twilight tells her to. Her choice is between Twilight/the Diarchy and Starlight/Equality, she doesn't even seem to really care about Sugar Belle and the others.

Also I love how Pinkie Pie gradually starts switching over to Maud style jokes as she adapts to not being able to express enthusiasm. Party Favor (what a name) stabbing the door is fun too.

Communism is totalitarian and peak bootlicker

The communist manifesto states that the dictatorship of the proletariat is necessary for the final form of communism. Both Marx and Engels said that "their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions". Engals followed up with "A revolution is certainly the most authoritarian thing there is; it is the act whereby one part of the population imposes its will upon the other part by means of rifles, bayonets and cannon — authoritarian means, if such there be at all; and if the victorious party does not want to have fought in vain, it must maintain this rule by means of the terror which its arms inspire in the reactionists."

It should be noted even Marx got tired of his own ideas and Engals begged and pestered him to finish Das Kapital when all Marx wanted to do was have his kids learn to play the piano.

The Bolsheviks lost the 1917 Russian Constituent Assembly election then the Bolsheviks subsequently disbanded the Constituent Assembly and proceeded to rule the country as a one-party state with all opposition parties banned.
It was the whole impetus for the October Revolution. They literally sperged out, said "the people are wrong", and took control.

Then Lenin instituted the idea of "democratic centralism" (top leaders can discuss issues, everyone else MUST obey).

This caused a left wing uprisings against the Bolsheviks who then purged and destroyed them to consolidate power.
left-wing enemies were dealt with by the Cheka
Lenin and the bolsheviks killed off and destroyed the menshiviks, constituent assembly, malhnovshchina, burnatskom, nabat, green armies, black guard, narva and other various anarchists groups also the SRP, ARF, BDA, SFP, USRP and the Left SRS.

I'm not sure why this is hard to understand for you, but I'm saying that when the other anon talked about "something Americans would call communism", he wasn't talking about communism, he was referencing the fact that American conservatives call anything to the left of their party lines communism, even things like basic social welfare programs and safety nets, public transit, and funding public education. All of the Mane 6 would almost certainly support things like that, and thus be labeled as communists if they existed in the modern US.

They'd be surprised that people weren't already doing those things on their own, and perplexed at the notion that attempting to force them would actually fix the issue.

Anon the only time the Crown tried to enforce anything beyond the most minimal nightwatchman state there was a civil war.
>even things like basic social welfare programs and safety nets, public transit, and funding public education
Good ponies like the M6 literally don't support any of these things being government funded.
>public transit
Seems to carry a charge. There are numerous forms of commercial transport.
>social welfare programs and safety nets
We see ponies without families or cut off from their family living basically in the wilderness. Literally Fluttershy's own brother is a hobo when he doesn't have a job and can't mooch from family. Trixie is forced to work on the rock farm. The safety net in Equestria is that almost everypony is fundamentally decent and is able to make their own way in life by just trying.
>funding public education
'Public education' is shown to be supported by private charity

It's worth keeping in mind that Equestria as a society is a lot wealthier than ours and can approach things like substantial building projects as one day jobs.

Based on all of their values, which you can observe through watching the show more holistically rather than nitpicking episodic plot elements, they would support those things being funded if they lived in a world that wasn't a cartoon utopia.

Also if you do want to make it about autistic theorizing through plot details, notice how there aren't any homeless ponies in ponyville, even though many of them are never really seen working and could be assumed to have pretty useless jobs given their cutie marks. There's likely some sort of pseudo-UBI from the throne or other welfare programs, provided you attempt to work in some capacity. Trixie could be considered exempt from this due to being persona non grata after Boast Busters or you could say she was just too prideful to accept support.
>>
>>43648205
>Fluttershy is funded by the state, she doesn't sell any goods or services.
Got any evidence for this?
>Who says they can't donate to a public good?
Because that would make it private, anon.
>Living in a state isn't exactly an indication of support for the current state if that's what you're arguing.
Anon they are the top level agents of the state for most of this and change nothing when they literally become the state.

But also
>the only time the Crown tried to enforce anything beyond the most minimal nightwatchman state there was a civil war
To be clear, the civil war was more like a holy war and Twilight/the Mane Six, especially, look to the Elements as a judge of righteousness. If you try to tax ponies then the supreme force of friendship will send you to the moon.
>>43648216
>There's likely some sort of pseudo-UBI from the throne or other welfare programs, provided you attempt to work in some capacity.
That's really not likely at all considering we see no evidence of it whatsoever. Plus there's just no need for it, considering
>Equestria as a society is a lot wealthier than ours and can approach things like substantial building projects as one day jobs.

>Where are the overworked coal miners and cheap slave labor at?
In the equestria slave markets like the one Rainbow Dash sold Fluttershy into.
Don't forget ponies are extremely xenophobic Fluttershy kept trying to correct Pinkie Pie and Rarity when they referred to Iron Will as a monster.

Now why would that other pony accept another pony as payment?
>>

Fluttershy could've said no at any point. She has the freedom to choose.
The pony accepted Fluttershy's services that she offered to do.

And Celestia.
We're never really told what Pinkie's attitude towards government authority is explicitly but we certainly never see her showing respect for it. If anything, LE shows that she doesn't give a fuck what princesses say. She's the prime example of the individualist, carefree pony that Celestia wants Twilight to learn from and which Celestia has gone to war with her own family over protecting the ideals of. I mean think of it another way: Pinkie and Maud would go to war for their country (Sombra timeline), but what do you think would happen if a federal agent came down and wanted to touch Holder's Boulder without permission?

To break the shitpost combo, he dislikes people who have actually watched the show not because they have watched the show specifically but because they actually talk about the show and don't conform to his arbitrary headcanons/assertions about it when doing so. Basically people who have watched the show conflict with his ability to wear the show as a veneer of respectability (lol).

Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy probably differ the most in reality from their pop culture perception, and on /mlp/ the performative fans of them aren't as common so there's a higher proportion of their fans that have actually seen the show. Basically it's very hard to like Pinkie unless you've actually watched S1, same with Fluttershy, and Rarity more for the show as a whole.

At most you could claim that it implies that he (you) have not watched the show. That's not a general statement across all anons on the board, or fans of other characters in general, just that his (your) dislike of fans of those characters on this board stems from the fact that they have watched the watched the show (and he (you) has not).

Alright, well since you wanna nitpick grammar here, you spelt 'explicitly' wrong. I expect your pinkie knuckle in the mail in a week.
>Well, the thing that it says explictly, for a start.
Which is that 'you don't like people who watch the show' which would imply that anyone who doesn't line up with those positions doesn't watch the show. Which leads me to the assumption that you are a ponk/flutterfag, especially since in a follow up post you assert anyone from those groups must watch the show, and you know because you watched it.
>>

>Which is that 'you don't like people who watch the show' which would imply that anyone who doesn't line up with those positions doesn't watch the show.
No it doesn't.
If you said you don't like fencers and I said it was because they were left handed, that wouldn't mean that all people that are not fencers are not left handed. It would just mean that I think the reason why you dislike fencers as a group has to do with the higher emphasis of the sinister manus among them.
>>
>>43650232
Problem is we're on a board that's about the show in question. So your fencing analogy still shows off how dumb your statement was, because it's basically akin to asserting that the reason I don't like fencers is because they're left handed... when I myself am left handed, in a club for left handed people. It's a completely asinine line that's so obviously stupid when you stop and think about it for more than a few seconds.

>Seeing the Fluttershy slavekink debate
>beme, (((griffin)))

Included Parties:
the Element of Magic, Princesses of Friendship, Acting Judge of Rainbow Falls Exchange, Twilight Sparkle, ("TS")
The Element of Loyalty Rainbow Dash, ("RD")
The Element of Kindness Fluttershy, ("FS")
Teddy Safari, ("the Vendor")

Dispute:
1)FS was involuntarily exchanged into Forced Labor and Restricted Liberty, ("Slavery").

Factual and Proceedings Background:
1)>The Vendor: "If [RD] can get [the Vendor] [the Animal], [the Vendor] will trade [the Book] for [the Animal]" (~5:08).
2)>The Vendor: "(sic) I'll trade ya. (read: the Vendor will trade the Animal for the Book), if [FS] comes and stays with us (read: the Vendor and the Animal) in Manehattan until [the Animal is] trained" (~17:17).
3.1)FS agrees to the latter provision, after stating the long duration required for training the Animal at ~17:30:
3.2)>FS: "But if that is what [RD] really wants" (~17:39).

4)As such the following can be concluded as the Terms of "The Exchange":
The Vendor relinquish her copy (the first edition) of "Daring Do and the Sapphire Statue", ("the Book"), to RD in exchange for an Orthros, ("the Animal"), and for FS to stay with the Vendor until the Animal is trained, ("FS's Taming Services").

5)>RD: "Oh no. What did I do?" (~17:58)
6)>RD: "There's no thing that's worth as much to me as a friend ... Which means there's no way [The Exchange] can be fair" (~19:33).
7)TS gives RD TS's copy of the Book at ~21:10.

Analysis:
1)Plaintiff argues that FS was sold into Slavery, and that FS was forced or coerced by RD to be used as payment in The Exchange.
2)Plaintiff also states that RD only wished to void The Exchange once TS gave RD TS's copy of the Book, arguing that the Slavery aspect of The Exchange had to be made void by TS. (Defendant made a comment of TS "cleaning up [RD's] mess")
3)Plaintiff shows multiple screenshots and screencaps from the episode to make and prove various arguments, but I have yet so see any such shown that were not outright different scenes from what the Plaintiff was arguing. For the sake of brevity, most arguments and all screen-shots/caps are made null and void.

4)Defendant argues that FS, and FS providing her Taming Services, did agree, and didn't disagree, to be used as a form of payment in The Exchange, and that FS's Taming Services did not constitute Slavery.

A.1, A.3, A.4)
Fluttershy formally agreed to have her services used as a part for RD's and the Vendor's exchange (FPBg.3.2).
The terms state no ownership of the pony as a whole, and are akin to a contractor's living arrangements being provided for by the employer for the duration of the contract (FPBg.2, FPBg.4).

A.2)
TS only gave RD TS's copy of the Book long after the Exchange was void (FPBg.7), RD did not show the knowledge of the existence of TS's copy of the Book, which means this argument has no basis for either the Plaintiff or the Defendant.

A.3) RD's only problem with The Exchange was FS's long stay away, thus severing the friendship, not the permanent sale of FS to the Vendor (FPBg.3.1, FPBg.5, FPBg.6).

Conclusion:
Fluttershy was NOT sold into Slavery.
I took the bait hook, line, and sinker.

The matter is settled in favor of the defendant!
The plaintiff is ordered to watch the show.

Pinkie got hit with the flanderization stick, but Twilight got hit with the "we need to erase you of all interesting personality because you need to be the main character now" stick
>>
>>43652412
>the only personality twilight fans saw in her was her hoity toity snark
Can't blame them really, that's literally Twilight's only redeeming factor in the early seasons. Apart from that she was less interesting and more one-note than her friends.

>Equestria is a right-wing paradise
Chuds here would ruin their experience in Equestria with the same asocial behaviors that alienated them on Earth in the first place.

She stopped a trade that broke the rules because Twilight didn't really want the broken pen. The "attack" was just a humorous gag of Pinkie scaring the filly into not snitching that Twilight "almost broke the rules". The "bidding war" was just her playing a character in order to get the most offers and thus the highest chance of Twilight getting something she actually wanted. The only thing this shows is she is a bootlicker for rules but that doesn't really fit her character, does it?

Yeah, I do. Sometimes I wish we could all just
>go back
honestly. I recognize how long it's been, and yet 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 feel like just a dream that happened just yesterday. Then from 2016 onward to me it all feels like it's melted together. Somehow we're all still here though, in this place that time forgot. I don't know. It's cold but pleasant to stand outside and look up at the Moon.

Fascinating political theory anon

That said I agree with >>43653553 I'm so sick of election tourists and mlpol bullshit in general. We thought we had it bad in 2014 but little did we know how bad things would get. The worst part is I'll probably be saying the same thing about 2026 ten years from now, if this site even exists at that point.
