You may have seen stereotypes of her S1 character in other shows. Her deadpan, intellectual, and cynical personality is so incredibly on the nose (pun intended) as a Jewish stereotype. Getting on a soapbox was peak Jewish behavior. So, too, are the various neuroses she has. Her need to impress Celestia, a maternal figure, and contacting her every day is typical Jewish behavior due to their culture's intense matriarchal pressure. She's specifically Ashkenazi because she comes from a family of privilege and wealth, and is specifically set aside for greatness. She had a destiny planned out for her by the in-universe equivalent of God, unlike anyone else in her friend group.
