>>43656938Very true. I think listing the fan-made mods officially, and thus tacitly endorsing them, would be a very fraught path with tons of drama about rejected mods like the filly one being made. I think what I'll do is make an explicit simple /mods/ folder and include a pre-made prompt explaining to people's AI agents how to compile their mod code into a .pck that people can share and drop into the mods folder like minecraft .jar files. You'll be able to toggle them on/off in a Mods section in the settings, too. It means you'll have to find the mods yourself, but it saves me a massive headache, and allows total freedom.

I intercepted the game to learn more about how it interacts with the clientIf you run local model, these are what you should know:* If you cold start a model (the model has not been loaded yet), it will take approximately 30 seconds or more to load.* The game has a timeout system, where it will interrupt and POST the server again As you can imagine, this causes the issue where the game's server-calling timeout is shorter than what's required of the server to load the model. And this causes an infinite loop, and ultimately fails.When you load from a save, it will shove a whole context history into the server. This is another issue that would trigger the timeout and the infinite loop of death. The longer you play, the more context, and the more likelihood that you will stuck in this cycle and your context will fail to load. If you speak to a pony, your context request to the server is interrupted and the server will likely try to respond to the latest prompt instead, which means context will not be loaded. This is very likely to happen as you load into a save, then immediately speak to a pony.tldr: If you are using a local model, when you start the game, do a test connection first to properly load the model (or just manually load it first). When you enter a save, stand around and do nothing for approximately 30 seconds to properly load contexts.

This is the future of video gaming btw. Instead of NPCs repeating the same scripted lines and dialogue trees, there'll be AI generated dialogue that follows a general direction but is new and fresh every time. RPGs will probably be first.
