Yes, this is where her character flaw comes in, though it makes sense, but its worth noting it was brought about by the initial selfless behavior on her part of trying to force the rest of the friends to support Rainbow Dash (which they never would've done without Rarity).Yes, Rarity gets wrapped up, but this I think ties into the other major flaw of her- she's autistic as fuck. Most of the ponies are, but her particular problem in this is she consistently thinks what's best for her is best for everyone. Sisterhooves is a great example with this, when she genuinely doesn't understand that a spa day isn't considered bonding with Sweetie Belle. This plays out in SR, as when Rarity goes to help Rainbow, at the peak of her pride, she then ends up swapping out the music selection, in an action she believes is genuinely, unironically helping the both of them. Yes, what she did was wrong (and she then recognizes it as wrong no less, I feel most overlook this detail), but you can see the logic of how someone gets wrapped up in excitement, while being consistent with her flaw.Her flaw isn't self-centeredness, she's incredibly selfless, her flaw is that she is consistently incapable of understanding that what she finds beneficial isn't 100% beneficial for everyone else's needs. This even continues in Forever Filly, when Rarity already knows what Sweetie Belle enjoys doing with her as a filly, but then genuinely doesn't understand that as she got older, Sweetie Belle's desires changed.Rarity is autistic as fuck and I love her for that.
