Reminder it'll remain open after this so you can continue to provide feedback>Loser's BracketGenerally mixed reaction with a 40% plurality of 'approved' but a significant margin of 33% 'mixed' or 27% 'disapprove'.Some approved of the streamlined format, allowing for the second chance in case of a favorite being knocked out but not being as dragged out as it was in 2020, which was the intended goal, and enjoyed the implementation as is. Others still heavily prefer the single-elimination format in general or, if we were going to implement Loser's Bracket, to do it in its entirety as we did in 2020 without any of the alterations made to make it faster this year.In terms of the two major changes made to the Loser's Bracket format, the four-way splits were met with much higher average approval of 67% compared to 20% mixed and 13% disapprove. Anons commented on enjoying the way four-way matches shake up the dynamic, while others bring up how the split vote between four contestants benefits some contestants more to mixed reception. One comment I saw that I think would be a very good compromise: if four-way matches in a Loser's Bracket were to be used again in the future, making every match like the 5th-8th placement polls where you can vote in the order you prefer the winners and the votes are weighted appropriately. In years past this would have been a pain to score, but with AI it's a lot quicker/easier to feed it the results and have it do the calculations quickly no matter how many of these placement polls there are. It would actually be more work for anons to fill out four options for as many as sixteen placement polls per round, but if it seems more balanced it's feasible enough to implement.The Finals between the main bracket / loser's bracket with single-elimination was more divided, with only 47% approval but 34% mixed and 19% disapprove. Again, some appreciated the do-or-die intensity that came with the finals and appreciated not having to do rematches for rounds that were decided or dragging out the tournament for longer than necessary. However the unfairness present for the two Finalists is still a sticking point and while some enjoy doing the four-ways, they felt the finals should have played out in full for the sake of fairness . Most agree however by 75% that there should be no handicap given to the one in the Winner's Bracket, preferring a simple one-on-one match to decide it.

Last year we gave 'Total Randomization' a try, which is that instead of conventional brackets every single match-up of the winners gets jumbled around, making it impossible to know who each contestant will be up against next. It was met with mostly disapproval responses, so in the case of fairness if we do try out a different format for Mr. /mlp/ I think we should limit it to those that have not yet had their chance: there remain a number of options from switching up how the Seeding works to different tiered tournaments, swiss system, etc that will be open for discussion.>Seeded vs RandomizedA roughly 49% approval for Seeded. Some anons prefer the reliability that Seeded offers in guaranteeing that major match-ups with strong contenders don't happen to early and overall a more 'fair' bracket, though others criticized how the Seeding this year tended to stack some quadrants up heavier than others. Others also offered suggestions for keeping Seeding but turning it around to instead match slightly more Seeds (1 vs 64 / 65 vs 128, rather than 1 vs 128 and 64 vs 65 for example) that I can present as an option in Mr. /mlp/Seeded vs Randomized has always been one of the more divisive topics in these contests and I imagine they'll continue to be for a while. One of the things you might always anticipate is that Seeded vs Randomized will be decided in the Preliminary thread poll.

These have generally gone over well for years now. The main thing of note to bring up with them in the Questionnaire has been the repeated Mini-Brackets which anons want to put limits on to prevent them from getting stale. Year to year, the three Mini-Brackets to always get picked have been Best Background Pony, Best OC, and Best MILF, with the former two also winning our two 'plus-sized 32 entry' polls consistently due to the sheer volume of contestants for each. Still there are a number of suggestions each year that get close and if voters want to put a recharge on some to allow others a chance, that's something we can implement.The other topic is being more choosy about nominations / ranking. Typically I've always prioritized suggestions for each Mini-Bracket by their qualifying Seed, but this isn't a perfect system for each of the Mini-Brackets. One suggestion I see is giving extra weight to nominations are are nominated/suggested for their Mini-Bracket multiple times which would override their Seed, which is a system I would approve of but just need to iron out the details (each nomination counting as an extra point on their Seed, +5 points? etc)

Fluttershy suffers from being super popular very early in the shows run, but then falling off hard in popularity as it went on. She was an absolute titan at one point, but she really fell over time, where as characters like Applejack were never super popular, but she's maintained the same level without much decrease. Flutterfags had it good at the start, and that's why they struggle so much now. They aren't used to being a small minority the way Applefags are.
