Why do modern internet nerds tend to flock towards black metal? What is it specifically that appeals to them? With how lame and neurotic most of them are, why do they not primarily go for prog and power metal first and foremost?
>>130393201modern racial dynamics - wouldn't expect a libcuck like you to understand
>>130393201Black metal requires the least technical skill and is more about image than music making it the perfect genre for people who want to feel “cool” while having no real talent
>>130393289nigga what
>>130393289Black metal is being swarmed primarily by libshits though. Hence the birth of the whole "is it sketch" movement and the popularity of atmoshit that tries to distance itself from the problematic oldschool in both sonic and visual aesthetics as much as possible.Kind of ironic how they do this while claiming the right has no drive for artistic creation.

The real answer is that Black Metal lends itself best to solo projects, as it both has the lowest skill floor of all extreme metal subgenres (especially if you're making atmospheric type stuff) and has an aesthetic that it suited to anonymous one man type projects. It's the perfect metal genre for when you're too scared to talk to people and meet up irl to form bands. That's also why the vast majority of modern black metal projects just shit out demos upon demos but never release anything of substance.
>>130393201I stopped liking black metal the more i got into music theory. Its so fucking bad.
>>130397524this.i still only occasionally listen to Leviathan, but that's about it
Black metal's literal social outcast music usually played solo and listened to alone. There aren't really many solo power metal or prog metal projects and as easy as it is to make fun of power or prog metal, power metal and prog metal were still borderline mainstream in some countries even as recently as the 2000s and pulled in decent crowds whenever they played live.
Only Black Metal I like is paysage d'hiver, it sounds great
I stopped listening to this gay shit when I found out they aren't actually satanists and are just pasty whiny faggots
