For such a far-reaching medium, the lyrical content of songs is severely lacking in a general senseYou can pin down 99% of all recorded songs in history with lyrics to the following:>Love (statistically 90% of all songs, but now an entirely unrelatable and irrelevant topic for most general audiences in the modern age now to make this many songs about it)>Literal meaningless words put together for the sound or to rhyme >"You should be happy/dancing">Gangster rap lyrics>Very overt political opinions>Novelty/actual shitpost lyricsWhile this is not all bad lyrical content, I feel so much about life and experiences and the general world get missed out because lyrics have to be one of these. It feels like such an afterthought to most artists compared to the instrumentals and means music has not peaked yet.
Why don't (You) make some songs then?
>>130417262You're too autistic to function. Please don't post here again.
OP is beyond autistic because I can listen to even the dumbest songs and get what the point/context of them is supposed to be.
>>130417262Shitty lyrics are easier to forgive if the music is good
Solution is never actually listening to the lyrics, they are always shit. I have developed an ear to just listen vocals as a another instrument, never paying attention to the lyrics
the thing about lyrics is you have to study poetry in a deep manner to get it, but poetry isnt music, its a whole other thing. and from what i hear most musicians think lyrics dont matter in music, i dont know shit about music so i dont know if thats true or not
thank fuck music is not about words but notes then
>>130417791>>130417791while i disagree with OP, you're kinda dumb cause it#s not about getting it, it's that he's saying theres very little to getboth of you are retards who just need to explore and listen to more musicalso instrumental music is generally better when it's properly done, unless the vocalist is actually unique and not just a random voice behind a mic
>>130417262091 might have the best lyrics out of any rock band ever, but since they're Spanish you won't even bother.
>>130417262Lyrics are usually secondary to the music. They are musicians, after all, not poets.
