there's some very good french music like stereolab, gainsbourg's late 60s-70s stuff, mylene farmer's 80s-90s stuff, francoise hardy, daft punk, air, even some decent shoegaze here and there (alcest, melodys echo chamber), magma if youre into that

but there is also some very, very cheesy trash that actual french boomers listen to like patrick bruel or whatever, friggin sucks ass
