still 95 is a wonderful lifespan
consider he was born only 10 years after Charlie Parker who we lost all the way back in 1955 at the young age of 35.
Rollins really outlived all of the greats.

my first jazz purchases were Birth of the Cool and and a Rollins lp put out by the Archive of Folk Music label on the same day from a thrift store. not sure why a folk label put out jazz or what sessions it was but it's great.
got to see him once back in the 90s.
