I strongly disagree. It's pretty obvious that Video Killed the Radio Star was going to be the standout single of this album. Plastic Age is a distant second, in another universe I could see that one at least getting some radio play but none of the other singles from that album really sound like radio hits with any real staying power. Apparently the albums other singles were written just to promote Video Killed the Radio Star
Video Killed The Radio Star is a bad song, so I trust those other songs have to be better.
>>130438530I don't really give a shit about The Buggles, but Trevor Horn himself is super underrated as a producer. He's done so many more famous songs over the last 40ish years than you would probably realize. When you listen to his catalogue with that knowledge, you can kinda hear his 'thing'. It's honestly kinda similar to what Max Martin popularized years later. Filled with bombastic sort of quirky short orchestral hits for emphasis. Think "Owner of a Lonely Heart".
I'm now reminded that Thomas Dolby was their keyboardist which is kind of wild to me

>>130443512>Trevor Horn himself is super underrated as a producertrevor horn is more recognized as a producer than anything else. he's on so many random records, and he also hard carried art of noiseon a side note, i don't think people realize how he literally saved all the things she said by tatu. the original russian version with it's original instrumentation is fucking terrible
>>130443512I still maintain that Owner of a Lonely Heart was one of the most cutting-edge records production-wise of its time.
