why don't we have tragic poets in music anymore?
>>
>>130448474
we do but we dont have that many good writers a lot of people write shitty lyrics.

Ironically one of the most poetic people in Rock rn is Marylin Manson you can tell he reads in some of his songs like in Six Feet Deep. Dude is well educated and uses good metaphors.

but do they poop on stage?
>>
>>130448474
His music was pretty tame, like a Stooges inspired garage rock band. He had to cut himself and throw poop at the audience for anyone to notice him. No one talks about how great or edgy his band was.

that's because he was a poet not a metal singer. his story is one of delicate tragedy.

More so a performance artist, the stage was his canvas and piss, poop and blood was his paint

They do though. I can’t even order a fucking hamburger these days without hearing how great GG and his Murder Junkies/Texas Nazis/Redneck Faggots or whatever were. By all means he was an American original in that he was willing to take the idea of ‘rock and roll’ as far possible and see if people were really willing to follow him on that path. Great performance artist too, him, Whitehouse, and John Duncan gotta be some of my favorites in that camp.

Isaac Wood will end up on a photo like this not too long from now. It's only a matter of time.

Richey Edwards already perfected it as an art. It's all be said now to such an extent that fatuous repetitions can't come off as sincere, and literacy (especially media literacy) rates ang general common sense and worldly knowledge have gone so far downhill in the past 30 years there isn't an audience for it anymore.

Fuck he was so cool early on, I don't want him to actually fucking die but I wish he'd taken it just a little bit further
I wish BCNR had recorded a no-wave album in 2019 before they decided to "grow up", their edgy phase was a larp but it was a good fucking larp

>>130448474
ummmmmmm have you ever heard of Taylor Swift?

No one talks about this shit outside of online basement dwellers.

Because Christianity is dead. The West worships egotism now. Tragedy can't survive

Incredibly lame. Not a poet or tragic.
>>
>>130448474
GG Allin wasn't a poet lmao

I dunno man the way he spoke through the medium of bodily fluids, you could really feel the transformation of man to waste in real time.
>>

that's what makes us so great, in my opinion. it's the contrast between what could be a happy pop-rock song and the lyrical content

Gimme Some Head is a fun, happy song
