Lolcow ops exist to make lolcows remember -- there's known life even lower than them. Thank you lolcow pp for adding meaning to the world
>>
>>130454656
He was a successful touring act as a young man, labels just didn't care about blues. He had already met the standards of 'making it' in blues before recording with big labels
>>
>>130453114
>why don't you confront an acquaintance from 10 years ago about their delusions?
Why would anyone is a better question
>>
There's some asian woman who makes calming electronoic music who got "big" in her 30s or something. She has an album of her face on it in blue ink. Idk why ppl think music has an age limit. Also wasn't MC Ride in his late 30s when they made death grips

anyway OP is a fucking retard nigger
>>
>>130452824
if you still think about high school in your 20s youre the real loser

i cut those guys off, they havent changed at all in 10 years. still talking about so and so dating so and so or video game bullshit 24/7
>>
If I wanted to be famous I'd do porn or political grifting instead. I'm in it for the love of the game.
>>
>>130458194
You dont make it till youre making a living off it and he was a wagie most of his life till he finally made it as a full time musician/artist at 39 year old.
>>
Why is it cringe? I'm in a different field (illustration) and didn't make it until my 30s. If you think like this, I guess it has something to do with having a normie brain.
>>
>>130452824
Yeah. He should be a passive aggressive faggot on a dead music forum like you, huh?
>>
Depends what semester is when I miss College/High School. Adulthood fucking sucks post COVID
>>
>>130461455
I graduated College in December after feeling really depressed about not doing so in the Spring....that was actually fucking awesome
>>
>>130461491
Graduating in December feels more sentimental with it being the holiday season and all. If you don't have a job yet it's not THAT bad because the first quarter of the new year sucks for everyone anyway
>>
Freshman Year destroyed Senior Year for me in College and High School.
>>
>>130461563
Senior Year was super fucking overrated. Junior was probably my favorite too

>>
Would you rather be dead at 27?
>>
>>130452824
I gave up on trying to "make it" a long time ago. Now I just write/record music for fun/for myself/for God/for whatever. It's a hobby like anything else. If I had the money to be an aquarium guy, I would, but music is way cheaper. Plus I genuinely enjoy the creative process. Uploading it and doing distrokid stuff is by far the most tedious part. I've made $104.00 buckaroos off my music tho. Also once a fan sent me money to buy a microkorgXL. Just because we talked on here and he liked my music. I've still got the microkorg. I'll never get rid of it. So in my opinion, I've kinda already "made it" in a way. I've got fans worldwide. I made money off my music. I've had friends/"sponsors" gift me music gear. Idk, I did okay for a nobody.
>>
I always wanted to be on the radio either playing music or announcing games. Something broadcasting but the industry really has just gone to shit the older I get. COVID would've ended my career anyway
>>
I'd rather at 27 still doing something pertaining to my dream than be a fat pig constantly talking about how perfect her kids are on Instagram and a divorced Dad.
>>
>>130461692
OMG LITTLE KAYDEN KOLSEN AND KLAYTON ARE MY EVERYTHING

Meanwhile off camera she drinks too much wine and berates her husband after he comes home from his 6 figure job
>>
What year is this where 27 is this cutoff date for life?
>>
I love how when it comes to sports everyone just scoffs because of the odds of making it....not everyone can be a doctor and lawyer. Shit there's lawyers out there that HAVE to represent absolute pieces of shit. Is that worth it?
>>
>>130461728
She lives and breathes Real Housewives along with Taylor Swift.
>>
>>130461746
It's just bait. Average person past 27 spends their freetime scrolling tiktok or watching Netflix, which is more cringe than making music
>>
>>130461746
The cutoff date is 23 unc
>>
>>130452824
Mark Sandman only became famous in his 30's

SZA first album was released when she was 27

It is better for a musician to have life experience, and do many diferent things, work.diferent jobs, because then they have nothing to say, i.e. Taylor Swift
>>
>>130464911
>implying you need anything more to say than teenage tier relationship drama
>>
>>130452824
18 year olds hopes of making it in music are equally non-existent in this market and honestly most musicians who tried and failed still had fun on tbe ride. Anything is less pathetic than trying to be a streamer instead.
>>
This dude I graduated high school with TWENTY YEARS AGO is still playing in the exact same butt rock nu metal band he fronted at the battle of the bands back in the school gymnasium. They play at the same few dive bars around town and constantly make the same generic social media posts acting like they're a big time band that has huge announcements that aren't just "hey we're playing at Grizzgo's on Thursday" or "oh btw we uploaded our (only) self recorded 2014 album to youtube so you can listen to it there now" and like holy lmao they're fucking awful
>>
>>130452824

I'm also 30
Lets make a band
I'll move
>>
>>130469904
If we're all fucked, might as well do something you enjoy, like making music. People who are always chasing never ending "success" according to arbitrary social standards or wealth will never be fully satisfied, and at a certain point sell their individuality and give up what makes them truly human so they can be solely a consumer/provider/economic unit. The day I make a Linkedin account is the day you have permission to Old Yeller my ass out back

Money's all that matters
If you're not striving to make Coldplay money why are you even in a band
>>
>>130461345
Most blues musicians ever didn't make it, I guess. Robert Johnson and Charley Patton probably worked all kinds of shitty jobs

anybody who leans heavy into marketing themselves on social media by participating in trends and shit feels embarrassing as fuck. Like the whole "posting my music everyday until it finds it's target audience" or "i made music that sounds like X + Y" reels and shit. I get it though, that's just how it is now and people feel like that's the path forward, it just looks embarrassing.
That said though I'm very active in my city's DIY scene and my feeds are full of musicians and artists posting their shit but in a more blog post type way, like just posting their newest shit and flyers for shows their playing etc. A lot of these people go well into their 40s and I know a few much older than that. That shit is fine and isn't embarrassing at all, just people doing it for the love of the game and keeping the scene active.
You gotta know the difference
