Spotify should buy them and they should bring user radios back
>>130464051if it ever happens, i'm out for good
so who owns it now?
So many ads all of sudden. Is this normal?
>>130464396you don't even have to solve that test because you're not using an adblocker in 2026
>>130464405lel
>>130463981Does /mu listen to internet radio?
>>130463981Honestly didn’t even know it still existed haven’t thought about it in a decade
Last.fm MUST endure.
They know what they have to bring back
>>130465004the forum ?
lol why would CBS / Paramount have been interested in last fm in the first place?
>>130465623Data gathering
>>130463981ugh i wish that website would die already, i scrobbled some stupidly titled song that i had tagged with my own first/last name and now 20 something years later it still shows up when you google my name. and its way too far back to remember what my lastfm username or email associated to it was
Listenbrainz
>>130465717so people can see what you listened to for a brief time 20 years ago, so what
>>130463981i didn't even know they were owned by them lmao
>>130463981Do zoomers even use this, or was it always a thing strictly used and beloved by millennials? I feel like zoomies only use spotify or other subscription-based music services.
>>130465004the about me section with bbcode support so i can decorate my page with gifs and fun text and the giant band logo banner?
>>130464396I just passed 60k scribbles myself took like three years
>>130464018>No. There is no change to our approach to data handling or privacy as part of this transition. But they were selling it anyway right?
>>130464396>top track: madonna - deeper and deepergay test not necessary
>>130468925To be fair, it's her best song.
>>130463981>Same service.>Same team.>New chapter.
>>130468928maybe i'm just a pleb but i like ray of light.
>>130465579YES
>>130468969yeah, the same dipshits that botched the redesign it 10 years ago. i'm still mad
>>130464405adblockers are immoral and im really not going to risk eternity in hell over not wanting to see some harmless ads.
>>130465717I drew my own stupid face with immaculate precision under a prompt on a drawing based telephone game website i used to frequent as a teenager. years later, when I asked the admins to remove that pic they just refused because it apparently went against the integrity of the game
>>130465717You can get Google to put in a request to remove it from the search listening. I got some removed when some bass tabs I made on ultimate guitar got stolen and posted on some russian site
There is literally no reason to follow people on last.fm. If they were smart they would create a homepage timeline of what your friends are listening to. It's become such a useless website.
BRING REAL FRIEND REQUESTS BACKBRING BACK NEIGHBORS BRING BACK THE RADIOGET RID OF COMMENT LIKES AND FOLLOWERS
I still use lastfm to find the most listening tracks from a band so I can get into the meat of things. Spotify only shows like 10 songs
>>130468613Nobody uses Spotify anymore. The company only survives because AI magnates keep it afloat with donations in exchange for training various AI shit on there from botted up listener numbers (recent shit with Drake) to literal AI generated muzak.
>>130472925desu ive stalked niqqas i follow to find a few of my top 15 albums oat
i got banned from lastfm for calling out a tranny's delusions. shit's a walking dinosaur anyways, its recommendations suck compared to spotify's lmao. hope it dies soon, only the faggiest of millenials and zoomers use it so fuck it
>>130469263i know you are trolling rn but you are undoubtedly a stupid faggot
>>130475694>Nobody uses Spotify anymore.
>>130472925it's useful with the "x and x others listen to this" on artist pages. I purposely follow both people who's taste I respect and people who's taste is complete shit, so seeing who listens to what and how much they've listened gives me a rough idea if an artist is even worth checking out. like if I see the k-pop stan I follow has a bunch of scrobbles for a certain artist, it's a red flag.other than that, following is useless aside from manually stalking their profiles
>>130472925I like following people with good taste, I find it fascinating what other people listen to and its good for basic recommendations for artists your newly getting into or if youre trying to go deeper into an artists discography
I tried getting into last.fm like 15 years ago, it made listening to music feel performative, I was thinking about my scrobbles as I listened to music, turned into some meta game thing you were always aware of.So I quit it, I think after 6 months or so
>>130464051Honestly, I think MUSE Group should buy them. They bought Hal Leonard, Ultimate Guitar, MuseScore & Audacity. This is a no brainer to weave all these powerful music projects into one giant envelope.2023 article on them buying Hal Leonard which is a huge property in and of itself.https://www.mu.se/posts/hal-leonard-combines-with-muse-group-faqs
>>130478609No I hate Muse.
>>130478640I don't actually know anything about them (haven't heard anything negative yet) but they obviously have money and are not fucking around so if they have money to spare, Lastfm is a ripe target.
They will somehow implement AI, won't they? Also they're 100% restricting certain functionalities for the free users. They clarified everything here >>130464018 except for the free stuff
>>130480367yesterday someone told them to not enforce ai and they replied with "we got you." on twitter
>>130478557performative to who? just dont share you account with anyone. Ive been using it for 15 years and don't even think about it aside from checking out general listening habits every few months
I miss when they actually had cool features
if they brought back groups and started trending back towards the old design I would give them money againI don't think for a second they will do either, but it would be cool
Last.fm is still around?
>>130478557I felt like this a lot when i first started using it. i really wanted to impress others in lastfm threads and it effected what i listened to. The self consciousness lessened after a while though. And once the site started dying and i interacted with other people less, i didn't think about my profile anymore and scrobbling was just something that happened it the back ground.
>>130468928Not the point, Madonna is for faggots
>>130478557sounds silly, I've had last.fm for 13 years across 3 accountsI love being able to look back in time and pull the exact kind of stuff I was listening to at some specific point without having to dig through memories
>>130463981they'll kill it. it's not a profitable business model.
>>130465579I remember the forums being top tier 2008-2011ish. I really don't understand where all of those people went. The internet is just completely dead now.
>>130483955They could probably make enough money from subscriptions if they added features people actually want
