"Cry" in particular, music has always been an escape and processing mechanism for me, I broke up with a girl right before Christmas in 2019 and was just devastated, partially because she was just so vindictive after it all, despite it being her cheating that caused everything to fall apart. After a night of drinking I had pulled a voicemail that she left me of her berating and screaming at me into the intro (IIRC I faded it in at about 6 seconds in, and let it roll, it finished just before the vocals for the track kicked in) just as a way to make it hurt less; I only ever showed it once to a friend and it left him speechless because he also didnt know what he could possibly do or say to make what she did hurt any less than it had. And yes ive been drinking already tonight.
