Is anyone else a musical cuckold? I enjoy listening to music and I find the creation process of music interesting, but I have never been able to play an instrument past the most barebones, beginner level. Most times that I've tried getting into making music, I became quickly frustrated and realised I did not enjoy it at all, and I quickly gave up, allowing other, more talented people to have fun with the instruments instead. I would rather sit back and allow other people to make music as I watch in the corner than do it myself, because I recognise it does not provide me with a feeling of reward and I will probably have a better time if I just relegate myself to spectating someone else as they play. Is there any way to overcome this mindset, if it's one worth overcoming in the first place?
