are rickenbacker guitars actually good or are they a meme guitar?
https://voca.ro/1cnN5HzzGkMu
>>130473588No I don't really like acoustic guitar either, strat into interface guitar rig 6 and I'm fine
I did a fret level on a shitty Squier with an aluminum bubble beam because it was buzzing and I tried everything else. It didn't make it better but at the same time it didn't make anything any worse. Frets are really shiny now though. It was dead flat when I was finished I was certain. What the hell went wrong anons.
>>130473653But how do you do volume swells when you're going for pedal tones? Seems like a lot of clicking around and a lot more work to me.
>>130473660are you trolling me or are you serious because in the image you are showing the strings are clearly touching the frets, you either need to raise the bridge or add relief to the neck I can't tell without more of the guitar in frame
>>130473666I use the volume knob? Or you can program the swell kinda like a delay, analog sequencer can do that pretty easy too.I'm gonna be real an actual amp does sound better and respond better but for vocas and practicing its so much more convenient. Besides everything sounds like shit through my mic so really doesn't matter now does it?
>>130473675They're not touching the frets in the image just based on the shadows, but they are real close. He probably needs some combination of raising the action and adjusting the truss rod like you said, but he might also take a look at the nut. Had one come from the factory with the slots cut way too low.
>>130473675They aren't it's just perspective/flash. E a d are at 3mm and g is 2ish
After how many hours of practice it is fair to say that you can play guitar?
>>130473689in the hundreds of guitars I've played and owned never once has the nut been an issue, not saying it never happens just never happened to me, people talking about binding in the nut, nuts cut too low, nuts cut too high, where are you getting these guitars with no QC?
>>130473706Fender. They cut the nut slots too low, so it always buzzed on open strings.
>>130473600Feed an mp3 player or other device into the input using 1/4" headphone adapters and an aux cable. The preamp should drive a pair of headphones. Not perfect situation but You'll at least know it works. Or find a buddy with a PA mixer and bass, guitar should be fine too
>>130473689Open strings are fine it's the fretted notes where I'm having issues
>>130473706I always just rub a mechanical pencil into it so the graphite lubes the strings.
>>130473733buzzing at 3mm?holy shit
>>130473733That's weird then because your action sounds on the high end if it's really 3mm on the low E. I assume you've checked your neck relief, too?

>>130473639They are a meme guitar if you only use them for super jangle Byrds type stuff but they’re an actual good guitar if you use them for more than just the one thing they’re known best for. The neck and bridge pickups are very different and they take a little bit of dialing, either the bridge sounds great but the neck is way too bass heavy or the neck sounds great and the bridge is way too shrill so you’ve got to really dial in your amp and/or EQ it properly, but once you do they’re very versatile guitars that can do a ton more than just the stereotypical Rick jangle (which they obviously still do and it’s a great sound). They have an unwarranted reputation of being a one trick pony sound wise. I love mine

Same as looking like a DYEL even when doing 3 hours of gym a day when you're just shuffling along without a focused regimen without proper form reps and all that shite. I mean think about all the guys who want to improve their golf game and buy every gimmick and lesson and thing out there to improve but they'll never play like Tiger Woods. I guess it was thinking like this that made me give up trying to mimic my favorite guitar virtuosos' techniques exactly and more just take general concepts that seem to work for me and work them out in a way that is comfortable for me to play. Took way too long to figure out what exactly I wanted on my little board but I think this is it. Compressor and EQ might get switched out here and there but I think I get more use out of a compressor. Big board full of effects is cool but I don’t need a bunch of pedals I only use intermittently, whereas this is all stuff I’ll always use. Not having slapback on feels weird because that’s one of my favorite guitar sounds but I need to get away from having slapback always on all the time just because I like it because it makes it sound stale really quick. This little stinker of an amp has really grown on me
>>130474740As this guy >>130475081 said, it's probably not worth it if you only have a few guitars. But I'm also obsessed and will get it myself and a "burner guitar" to practice on.My "main" guitar needs a fret leveling (can't get the action below 2mm without buzz coming through the amp), but I'm gonna hand it off to a luthier, because I'm afraid of fucking it up.
