Be honest, from NPC's prerspective or from your perspective, which one is cooler for a guitarist to play?
I mean Slash is a big name, however Anastasia sounds more tame and classic, like nothing special.
Which one would you rather play to your gf?

I did a fret level on a shitty Squier with an aluminum bubble beam because it was buzzing and I tried everything else. It didn't make it better but at the same time it didn't make anything any worse. Frets are really shiny now though.

It was dead flat when I was finished I was certain. What the hell went wrong anons.
>>
>>130473653
But how do you do volume swells when you're going for pedal tones? Seems like a lot of clicking around and a lot more work to me.
>>
>>130473660
are you trolling me or are you serious because in the image you are showing the strings are clearly touching the frets, you either need to raise the bridge or add relief to the neck I can't tell without more of the guitar in frame
>>
>>130473666
I use the volume knob? Or you can program the swell kinda like a delay, analog sequencer can do that pretty easy too.
I'm gonna be real an actual amp does sound better and respond better but for vocas and practicing its so much more convenient. Besides everything sounds like shit through my mic so really doesn't matter now does it?
>>
>>130473675
They're not touching the frets in the image just based on the shadows, but they are real close.
He probably needs some combination of raising the action and adjusting the truss rod like you said, but he might also take a look at the nut. Had one come from the factory with the slots cut way too low.
>>
>>130473675
They aren't it's just perspective/flash. E a d are at 3mm and g is 2ish

>>
>>130473706
Fender. They cut the nut slots too low, so it always buzzed on open strings.

Feed an mp3 player or other device into the input using 1/4" headphone adapters and an aux cable. The preamp should drive a pair of headphones. Not perfect situation but You'll at least know it works. Or find a buddy with a PA mixer and bass, guitar should be fine too

They are a meme guitar if you only use them for super jangle Byrds type stuff but they’re an actual good guitar if you use them for more than just the one thing they’re known best for. The neck and bridge pickups are very different and they take a little bit of dialing, either the bridge sounds great but the neck is way too bass heavy or the neck sounds great and the bridge is way too shrill so you’ve got to really dial in your amp and/or EQ it properly, but once you do they’re very versatile guitars that can do a ton more than just the stereotypical Rick jangle (which they obviously still do and it’s a great sound). They have an unwarranted reputation of being a one trick pony sound wise. I love mine

Your fretwork must be fucked
My 24 fretter is below 1.5mm by a few pubic hairs on the low and high e string at the 24th fret (no capo on the first)
About .10 (thickness of the high e string) relief on the 12th

Slight buzz when I smack the strings to the max but it's useable for the most part

Check out stewmac vids on youtube for a professional and veteran electric luthier (who shills his own products that can be pricy).

I was hip to them, but I just kept putting them off until the QC started to tank, then they were gone.

>>130475475
QC is relevant to the models you have at store near you. I believe most popular companies have a whole lotta lemons and you yourself need to go out and find a good one. Most kids cant and wont have the means to do this. But it is worth playing the instrument you intend to buy before hand. That goes for ALL brands

Probably aroung the 10k hours meme mark. I did improve compared to when I was first browsing /gg/ some years back, albeit marginally. But it doesn't mean much if only about 2k hours of those are focused and intense practice. Same as looking like a DYEL even when doing 3 hours of gym a day when you're just shuffling along without a focused regimen without proper form reps and all that shite.
I mean look at drivers - most will do just fine on the streets but only a few who dedicated to practice are competent and skilled enough for the track. Even among those professionals there will still be the few repeat top 5 names rising among the crop.

This kind of thing tends to make me sad. I mean think about all the guys who want to improve their golf game and buy every gimmick and lesson and thing out there to improve but they'll never play like Tiger Woods. I guess it was thinking like this that made me give up trying to mimic my favorite guitar virtuosos' techniques exactly and more just take general concepts that seem to work for me and work them out in a way that is comfortable for me to play. Everyone has to cope unless they are blessed with genius. Also Rock Lee was my favorite Naruto character.

It really be do like that, people's genetic capacity aren't equal. Some will really pick up the mental abstractions and physical finesse of their specific field faster than most other people given the same amount of exposure time, letting them become far ahead than everybody in the fundamentals and allowing them to focus on the infinitesimal details that propel them to greatness. Dawg it sounds like your nut is fucked, when you look at it closely, are the strings deeply sunk into the notches? It's common with plastic, they basically saw into the cheap nuts.

Took way too long to figure out what exactly I wanted on my little board but I think this is it. Compressor and EQ might get switched out here and there but I think I get more use out of a compressor. Big board full of effects is cool but I don’t need a bunch of pedals I only use intermittently, whereas this is all stuff I’ll always use. Not having slapback on feels weird because that’s one of my favorite guitar sounds but I need to get away from having slapback always on all the time just because I like it because it makes it sound stale really quick. This little stinker of an amp has really grown on me

As this guy >>130475081 said, it's probably not worth it if you only have a few guitars. But I'm also obsessed and will get it myself and a "burner guitar" to practice on.
My "main" guitar needs a fret leveling (can't get the action below 2mm without buzz coming through the amp), but I'm gonna hand it off to a luthier, because I'm afraid of fucking it up. I don't like having a lot of guitars, so the 3rd one I'll get will be a cheap one in the shape that I like and I will try to fix it up myself.

The Traveler guitar lives! Louder than ever even. Seems the 20" drop finished off a solder job that was a little iffy to begin with

I’ve had this mij p bass for about a month now and I’ve got to say I really don’t like the pickup. it’s got way too much high mids. I’ll be replacing it with a custom shop ‘62

There are a few ways. Forearm only, wrist only, forearm plus wrist, keeping your pick in place while you use your fretting hand to rhythmically vibrate the whole guitar over it, and the Zuptdacht. but I haven't seen many people use it since the 00s

>>130478964
Can you not just tone them down with a cheap parametric eq pedal

I’ve tried but with just a bit of tube saturation it brings them right back. it’s too muddy if I turn it down a bunch :/

tube amps are fun but light overdrive having to be louder than your clean tone because of how the amp works is a little inconvenient. getting overdrive out of a pedal so you can balance your clean and overdriven volume is pretty nice especially if you play live
