My earlier point exactly, someone got a half hour clip of his partial review, he really didn’t delve at all into the thematic meaning of it. I don’t really care what he thinks though, I’ve listened to the album several times and it’s fantastic, I think it is really going to be viewed as one of the defining albums of the 2020’s sort of like how Dark Side of the Moon is considered one of the defining album of the 1970’s.

Because it blows almost everything else made in the 2020’s completely out of the water. There had been some amazing albums put out by other groups in the last couple years. I was really happy when Xeno and Oaklander released their last album, Ty Segall has put out some great stuff the last few years. While there have been some excellent albums by excellent bands put out, how many of them create this kind of experience? Inferno is not just an album with a bunch of songs on it, the whole thing sounds and feels like a unique experience. It is more akin to a concept album in that regard.

It doesn’t sound dated, it sounds timeless, Arena Americanada sounds like the 1980’s, Father & Son sounds like the 2020’s, Naraka sounds ancient, into the magic land sounds like it’s from the future.

I am sure when DSOTM people in the early 70’s thought an album with saxophones, a piano piece probably sounded dated in an era where the synthesizer was gaining preeminence.

Time will tell but I have a feeling that years from now people will look back on this album as one that stands out amidst this decade.
