Love Supreme. I never really got the hype around TBSATSL, it's too avant-garde for me. Love Supreme Pt. 2 is one of the freshest sounding jazz tracks I can think of and is one of the first ones I give to anyone asking about jazz

Coltrane another time, mingus needs to get discussed immediately especially to the west coast maroons that champion the west coast sound but get scared of black people whenever music gets played, the japanese fox spirits or something like that, alright i have gone too far officially if i have got to amaterasu’s musical preferences but this is a nice time to talk about the autobiography that mingus wrote, and i do not know just spitballing here but i feel like mingus has a lot to unpack here and the west coast has a lot to unpack here and all too often on the west coast innocent italian united states nationals and italian americans and get caught in the crossfire between musical african-americans and african united states nationals that might or not be musical quite frankly and white identifying individuals that god is angry with for being racist and who fuck up the rhythm of white identifying individuals and innocent italian american are just caught and raked by the proton torpedoes of this torrid tempestuous torpid inclement transvestite invested committed salubrious lugubrious hiphop hippotomas history crossfire hallmark card that is often the west coast of north and south amorica or something like that

I don’t get why people say it’s avant-garde. To my ear it should be more accessible to most people than many all-time great jazz records. It has a more composed structure, almost listens like a soundtrack. There’s not much dissonance, or super long tracks where they go into the weeds playing with form. It’s not abrasive and it’s paced in a way that shouldn’t shut your brain off to it at any point

At least it is more easy listening.
