LIGHT 6
>>130485751Recently I was watching one of his old reviews and it struck me that he’s actually devolved; not just that he’s more annoying now but he’s literally gotten worse at music criticism
I hope so, the seethe would be hilarious. The way this bald faggot lives rent-free in the head of an average /mu/tant.
>>130485843Devolved and More Bald
>>130485751taking ratings like this seriously is the sign of an underdeveloped mind
>>130485843>gotten worse at music criticismThis implies that music criticism takes any skill or is important any way
>>130485751honestly i agree
>I don't care about melon's opinions>Therefore I will spam the board with threads about how little I care about his opinions
If this wasn't your face listening to Naraka you don't have a soul
>>130485843
>>130487476i had an out of body experience, it was unexpected and beautiful
>>130487481arsecandle
>>130485843As his popularity grows, he needs to produce more digestible opinions.
Fathertony And Sontano was vibing pretty hard to Naraka if you actually watch the vid
>>130487481Roll
>>130485751Light 6 is not a bad name for a band, album or song.
>>130487476YES SAAAAAARWE WON
>>130486293no I'm just here to laugh at zoomer boc fans
>>130485843he was never good>more annoying>gotten worse at music criticismbut enough about /mu/
>>130485843I had recently went and watched some early 2010s Anthony videos and I concur with >>130488437Anthony was never good at music criticism. Nor was this board as good as imagined, as I also discovered from archive digging.
>>130486710No joke, tame impala and many such cases to the australian industry plants was the rock band ps2 algorithm conquering all before that algorithm much as tamberlaine and dan carlin had done As to this boards of canada bisness >>130485751 I just want to claim right at the start that fantano has very strong starcraft vulture pilot vibes and i thjnk that a lot of time vulture culture are unjustly maligned as dyslexic culture vulture and i think that is wrong because ideas to catholicism nor have ideas to nomad or sustainable have not been invoked either more to the point were that the vulture were a noble creature which is also beside the point because the vulture pilot from starcraft were not a furry or feathery?i guess but a terran pilot anyway very strong comforting vibe to guide through the noosphere spider mines are nice for fucking up those scottish highland algorithm roman grime drums back to the hexagon sun supposably china is building artificial hot fusion suns and according to me south korea were building cold fusion suns and noone has told me different as to yet and as to that what boards of canada were building this hexagon type sun that were this sort to aphex twin idea about techne and older ideas from techne and toffler that have to be at least half hokum by weight if not more or something like that
>>130491012Makes sense
>>130485843The thing about criticism (on a professional level) is that most of the time it gradually erodes your sense of taste. You are exposed to far too much art constantly and you pay little to no in-depth attention to it whatsoever, so really the only things that you end up liking are the things you remember from a sea of noise, and those just end up being the loudest, most intense experiences. But sometimes the best art isn't always loud and insane. Sometimes it's quite subtle and intricate. Sometimes it's stuff that requires closer study. You'll notice a theme that runs through Fantano's highest rated records; they're all abrasive, confrontational, subversive and chaotic to some degree, but he repeatedly overlooks records that impact people greatly without that kind of grandiosity. Or at least he doesn't see their full merit because they don't throw everything at him right away, which is all he really has time for. "Internet's busiest music nerd" is a detriment, not something to brag about. It's a bad thing. This is why I think a good critic just consumes music at a normal, leisurely pace and offers his thoughts and opinions after having given them enough time to gestate, no deadlines or quotas or trying to listen to everything under the sun. Very few critics work that way but I keep noticing that the ones that do usually have the best taste and foresight. Everybody needs to slow the fuck down.
>>130487476This is more Age of Capricorn. Your face during Naraka should look like this.
>>130485843A recurring theme with his videos of the last decade is that his mode of consumption / art analysis is very inattentive and numb. He rarely pays any attention to art as gesture, he just kinda focuses solely on like vibes or production quality. Surface level shit. He doesn't actually engage with the art on any meaningful level.
>>130491334Thats because he is reviewing pop music and not art
>>130485843Yeah, in 2024 I binged all his 'Top 50 Albums of' videos and it was jarring seeing not only him getting less articulate every year but also the variety of genres on display dwindle, guess he got lazy and complacent as his popularity increased>>130487481Rolling
