Bands that should have stopped a long time ago.

Am I the only one who thinks picrel went downhill starting at Plastic Beach? In the previous albums every song was a vibe. In Plastic Beach and after there were little to no songs that were really catchy or interesting.

Part of what I liked about Gorillaz back then was that they had a wide range of genres under their belt. But now it seems like theyre still chasing this new age trip hop and its gotten real stale.

Anyone get me? Or am I just pissing in the wind?

Plastic Beach was the beginning of the end. Instead of just making music themselves, they just outsourced it to other artists. They had something really nice and then they turned it into bootleg "The Avalanches"

Their career has always fluctuates because of the rap slop. The Mountain is actually some of the best work they’ve done. Plastic Beach is a pretty bad album with about 3 gems on it. There are 3 types of hardcore Gorillaz fans: people who were approximately 12/13 when the first album came out (the true fans), people who were around 12/13 when Demon Days came out (the rapslop fans), and the people who were both around 12/13 when Demon Days cane out + the zoomers who discovered Gorillaz through Plastic Beach and onward.

The band just became too wiggerfied over time and attracted dude weed/axe body spray/wigger fans, which made them money because their first album was too experimentally whimsical even for pop/trip-hop appealing to kids.

I mean it wasnt a particularly big hill, Gorillaz make music for 14 year olds. I can understand kids liking it, I can understand adults having nostalgic feelings about it because they liked it when they were kids but ultimately its empty and juvenile.
