I was gonna put roundwounds on the ES175 but then I remembered Pat Metheny's story about him never changing the flats on his famous ES175 as long as he owned the guitar. Guess it's going to stay a strictly jazz guitar for now. Gonna put these rounds on the D'angelico instead.

I'm not promising anything but i think i'm pretty much done. i got all the different characteristics i wanted across the 3 guitars and my sick ass sire bass.
>set neck HH + push pull coil split
>strat style with two point trem + mid boost push/push active pickups
>just a fuckin telecaster
>jazz bass + preamp with 3 band eq + passive switch

should cover any variety of tones i could ever ask for. all i kinda want after all this is just a decent amp but i got a free modeling pedal and a pa speaker that's doing just fine for me at the moment. that and rocksmith. i have spent a total of... i think 1200 dollars on 4k worth of instruments this whole venture. i'm hyped the fuck up and i'm havin fun.

Are you having fun? Play guitar and have fun

been having some issues with my wrist playing guitar. anyone else dealt with something like this? theres tightness and tension rotating my right wrist from palm down to palm up. eventually i feel it pop and tension releases. but theres always a slight tension. its my picking hand and i do have a palm muting heavy style, but I've been playing for 15 years and havent had any issues.

>>
Blind tests don't matter, it's about feeling and spending that extra thousand or two for a Gibson that only needs a couple tune ups to really sing. Or even an Epiphone for $1500 that could use a new set of pickups because the originals are microphonic pot metal chinese craftsmanship.
>>
If my fingers can’t feel the FENDER on the decal on the headstock or the GIBSON inlaid in the headstock then I don’t want it. Blind play tests don’t work because I play by feel already and not feeling the FENDER or GIBSON on the headstock is just as bad as feeling sharp feet ends.

Tele is a close contender, but considering the time I spend playing mine vs the Jacksons, I'll probably have to go with the Charvel as the closest equivalent from the picture, assuming I get to modify the wiring to my liking. Series/parallel for both pickups.
>>
>>130509790
QC is largely meaningless without a big enough sample size, you could get 10 lemons and 10,000 could be good or 10,000 could be even worse. It only matters for the copy you get.

9, 4, halfway between 2 and 3, and just before 2. But you'll need a fuckton of distortion and treble for the latter.
Also, if you fret a note you can just add the number of that fret to figure out where the harmonics of the fretted note are.
And you can mirror their locations from the note's octave to find them on the picking side of the string. That's where you go for pinch harmonics.
E.g.: 5th fret natural harmonic gives you 2 octaves up from the open string. If you fret at the 4th fret, 4+5 = 9, play a harmonic at the 9th fret (use your right hand to touch the string while fretting 4 with the left), that's your 2 octaves up from the fretted note. 4th fret's octave is the 16th fret, now take the distance between that and the 9th fret
>>
>>130510626
the variability on where to pick for pinch harmonics is always a pain on the ass "What the fuck do you mean I can pull 3 different harmonics in the space between the end of the neck and the bridge fretting just one fret?"
Lots of experimenting, lots of respect to the metal guys I see casually pulling them off now.

I mean, scientifically, and theoretically speaking, it just means to crank it to full. You know? Because some amps go to 10, and that's a ten cent piece there -- a 'dime'. So they're saying to maximize the output of each dial.

I've heard it most often used with regard to Marshalls.
>>
>>130511911
how many Gibsons will it take to satiate that absolute chad?
>>
i think i can stick my OP1 in the effects loop of the jazz chorus instead of plugging it into input 2 so we may be back online for vocaroos
>>
>>130511729
Never do this. Not only is it terrible for your hearing, but it is detrimental to tone both transiently and over continued use as over excursion is detrimental to the doping and voice coil. That breakdown can cause discontinuity and expediate failure of the output devices of the amplifier. If you must turn up that loud, find hearing protection and always ensure you're using a gcfi outlet. But most of the time, less is more. Rock on!

Cool Jacksons, which models?

I started playing guitar in december and after owning a cheap Schecter Demon I realized that I want a classic black dinky/soloist body superstrat with a floyd rose, like a Jackson or Charvel.
MJ Soloist would've been perfect but it costs too much ($2500) for my budget. Pro Plus Soloist is $1500 but it's made in Indonesia and is an archtop which I don't want. Charvel Dinkies are all strat tremolo for some reason, they only have floyds on the strat style models.

So I got myself this korean nigga instead. I still don't know much about guitar build quality but a local guy who sells Suhrs, Mayos and PRS cores and shit talks budget guitars has checked this LTD and said that it's basically perfect in his opinion.

>>130514418

I bought a joyo jw-03, which is the cheapest system I could find, and I don't notice any delay whatsoever. I don't use any pedals and plug the guitar directly into the amp, so keep that in mind I guess.
It probably has many disadvantages compared to wires, but not enough to make my lazy ass go back to them.

There is no point in E standard.
C# standard sounds objectively superior even if you just play E standard songs on the same frets without transposing.

Planning a different wiring scheme for one of the Jacksons
Instead of S/P switching per pickup, both will be parallel by default, with one switch splitting both into single coils and the other reversing the polarity of one of the pickups as a whole (so the "middle" position will be in/out of phase)

Scale length, neck profile, fretboard radius. All different.
>>
>>130517122
You should
Make sure to get a 4 position switch, wire it up so you get S/P and add a phase switch. My Baja Tele came with both of those options and it's great

Binding protects the corners of the wood from getting dented.
>>
>>130518258
Actually it dampens the sustain by adding more glue. And it's stated main objective is to prevent finger oil from entering between the pieces of wood on the neck. But how could that be true if you have to route a chanel and end up with two seams(Fingerboard-binding-neckwood) instead of the one you started with? (Fingerboard-neckwood).

With a trained ear it really doesn't take long. And actually it's becomes a fun exercise that will teach harmony and sharpens your ear for pitch differences when tuning. In my experience anyway.
>>
>>130518437
the biggest problem with instruments that have more than the standard number of string is cheap construction. by the time you get half of the strings tuned, the neck is being pulled forward so you have to chase the tuning 2-3 times. it’s not a simple matter of just tuning it like a normal guitar

what if you tune your guitar down to B Standard, should relax the neck right?

>>

Only the change in magnetic field causes induction in the coils, and the field on the sides of the magnet is much, MUCH weaker than that above the pole pieces (you know, where the strings are), which means that any changes that may happen there (there aren't any) will not have a measurable effect.
https://www.youtube.com/@physik-der-elektrogitarre has books on this subject. Learn German I guess, or consider studying electrical engineering. Otherwise, listen to those who have done so and actually looked into it. Parroting marketing babble is counterproductive unless you're being paid for it.
