>>130506493"Alternative" sounds kinda vague, same as with alternative rock, plus a lot of stuff already gets put under that umbrella that isn't nu metal. Also from my experience it's a term that people who listen to SOAD and Deftones use because they're scared to admit they like nu metal.

To me it’s just butt rock. None of these bands even sound like it were influenced by metal besides Slapnuts. They all sounded more like Faith No More than cannibal corpse
