Sup /mu/, buddy of mine was moving and was going to give out this guitar for free. So I took it off his hands. It's old and locked up. Going to try to get some oil to loosen the locks on this.
>>130508883Burn it, you'll thank yourself soon enough
>>130509185got it open up
>>130509185It's 12 strings, and the sticker is still inside
>>130509326damn thats good
>>130509386I checked deeper info, and said it could be from between 1968 and 1972. Here's the model number to see if any of you would know the exact year.
Take it to a guitar store and ask for a cleaning, restring, and setup. Tell them to put it in general playing condition
>>130509783taking it now
>>130509783Ok, I am back. They took a look at it and said it's a 12-string 1971 Yamaha FG-230 and is valued at $600. Strings were actually fine for their age, but just needed retuning and some care. Got myself a capo, tuner, and some picks to start learning. I guess I'm ready to play anons. What should I learn first?
>>130510615Starting on a 12 string is a wild move but a free classic japanese one rules. Learn Wish You Were Here first
>>130510615Go do justinguitar and have fun anon grats on the nice guitar

I would honestly sell it for the 600 it is worth, pocket the rest after buying a new acoustic on amazon for 150 bucks or 125 bucks. You can buy a new fender acoustic for that.
