I've treasured several of King's lps over the past year, including Live At The Regal and Blues On Top of Blues, astute management has now transformed him into the major star he should have been ten years ago, and I hope he makes two million, but his music is not improving. There is no reason why someone as sweet-voiced as BB shouldn't cut his blues with ballads but all too often they lean into schmaltz. This is a good lp, especially on the first side. But Live At The Regal is so much better. B

Nah BB is kino. Blues is only the worst form of music when it's played by white boomer dentists and accountants in the suburbs.
