Mixtape would have been better received if it was calling back from 2000’s music and nostalgia instead of the 90’s. You can be a poser about 1990s culture but its alot harder with 21st century media which most people can easily recall and have fond memories of.
No offense but all 4 of these bands suck cock
Just came here to say that /mu/ is one of the worst boards on this shithole and makes fucking /vg/ look lile Hyperborea. That is all.
You're probably right. But with 2000's stuff now you gotta address the oncoming scourge of social media, the internet, the bush era, 9/11, smartphones.
it would have been better received if it was a game
give it about 5 more years and more z chads getting in charge then the 2000s nos will pop
>>130530740If you think that we arent going to gatekeep zoom zooms out of any kind of position beyond menial tasks for decades to come then you don't understand uncs at all.
>>130530737truth. every once in a while there's some lost faggot from /mu/ getting defensive when someone posts this and it's always funny
>>130530735Absolute music lover from the 90ies here.Am I the only one who thinks Mixtape's song collection is quite shit?
>>130530738You can pick "last happy days before the end of the world" melancholic narrative, or "the world is currently ending" hyperreality nightmare. They're very different.
>>13053073590's music makes for way better soundtracks though.2000's music significantly less so. I can't imagine what sort of game you could possibly make set to White America or My Immortal.
>>130530735those bands are from the 90s zoomer kun
>>130530735Its weird that this sort of "underground culture" was more easily accessible back then to the masses compared to today
op in shambles
Mixtape is about late gen xers growing up. If the game was about late gen xers as adults, then it would have been about the bands that were popular in the 2000s, and instead it would focus on millennials growing up, which would be a very different demographic.
lmaoing at op's life>>130530736slippy self titled is genuinely goodanyways op should change evanescence and disturbed with limp bizkit and korn simply because they are the more iconic nu-metal bands compared to them
>>130530745Yeah, I don't think they would've been listening to that. Those types of developers seem to be the type that might have put on some more indie things perhaps, I wouldn't know anything of but I know they had their owns scenes or maybe like a band like The White Stripes or in that vein? Unless they would explore the different genres of the decade from numetal, alt, to emo. There were a ton of pop and rap hit songs going on too; I wonder if they would touch on it in such a hypothetical game.
>>130530736you have bad taste, contrarian
>>130530745Late 90s and early 2000s music is Matrix-core. So make Matrix-like games for them
>>130530745You're out of your element here. 2000's music is the most video-game ready music there is.
>>130530745Meanwhile, actual 2000s soundtrack music:https://youtu.be/zxRPQZiCe4chttps://youtu.be/nIlglzoDTXchttps://youtu.be/UuDFpa-ST6U
>>130530947knower
Mixtape the game? It would be astroturfed garbage no matter what era it was calling back to.
>>130530736Erm, Slipknot ST and LP HT are certified bangers. Disturbed has Conflict and The Game (you lost). Evanescence is just annoying as sin. Fucking hated waking up to Bring Me To Life blasting on MTV on a school day. Throw Static-X and Spineshank up there in place of Evanescence and Disturbed.
>>130530737based based based
>>130530745Funny how you picked one of their slowest songs when we already know Bring Me To Life or Haunted would fit quite comfortably in a vidya.https://youtu.be/Ot6j_qqYQaM?si=V5PqixIskUlKb5At
>>130531087desu I just can't take this seriously, it inherently feels like an AMV edit because of the song choice
>>130530747>underground cultureThis was mainstream normie music back then.
>>130530735Adi Shankar is currently defiling the Devil May Cry franchise with this music so you're wrong.
>>130530736fpbp. Though I don't think Slipknot were bad when they dropped the nu-metal thing.
