Why do the lyrics in the new Evanescence Album sound ChatGPT generated?

there is a new album? why nobody told me
is it gud?

is she calling people gremlins?

Probably because it has like 18 cowriters. I liked the pre-release singles and Rapture's okay-ish, but man this thing is disposable. Contemporary, but disposable.

>Album title is named after a song Ben made 13 years ago
>Bird on the CD cover like WATF has on their CD cover
>Still plagiarizing sound/lyrics from We Are The Fallen
>Downplay everything Fallen while doing a Fallen reshoot with the new members
This is not subtle at all.

its good, but obviously doesn't compare to their first two albums. bitter truth really grew on me and even if you don't like it part of me/blind belief are miles ahead of anything on this record
>>

>Part Of Me
Best song on The Bitter Truth. I think Broken Pieces Shine is overrated as heck. Feeding The Dark would have been great if it had a real solo from Ben or Terry. The actual guitar solos are just lame. I can't think of anything Jen meaningfully contributed to that album.
>>
This band is another one that was an absolute joke in the 90s that the kids dug up. Thus, I will never take this goofy ah shit seriously.

>Ben Moody apologists still exist
get a life anon
>>
>>130540780
I honestly see this as an overblown, marginally better Bitter Truth. That album has Feeding the Dark and this one has a solid 3 song run in Who Will You Follow/Rapture/Afterlife. I can take or leave the rest of both albums. Listenable, but like the entirety of the self-titled I forget it 5 minutes after it ended.

Evanescence were basically making home demos in the 90s. They were a few years away from anyone knowing who they were.
>>
>>130541149
Ben's good, though I personally think he reeled himself in on Fallen to fit all of that album's ideas in. I'd sooner point to his work on their pre-Fallen material as to why his exit is a loss. That said, The Open Door definitely benefited from a budget that Ben never got to take advantage of, and in my opinion Terry did well enough there. I think it's after that one that the songwriting starts falling short.
>>
>>130541252
Evanescence was spammer non stop on late stage MTV. They were the very definition of "industry plants" marketed to middle schoolers, don't pretend like they were struggling artists grinding away in tiny clubs.
>>
>>130541298
Okay, but that was in the early 00s, not the 90s. Fallen released in 2003.
>>
>>130535857
This for me except Chemical Brothers has a new album wtf
>>
>>130541283
Ben got raped by a gay jewish producer doe
>>
>>130535854
Her lyrics always sucked, she could just sing really well so she got a pass
>>
>>130541298
They were playing in 1996 at a Mexican restaurant just to get free food, and were making music for almost 10 years before they blew up and got famous. Origin is the demo album they released in 2000 and My Immortal is the song on there that got them signed to a major record label to begin with. They are far from industry plants, in fact all the members up to had contributed to their sound and writing up to Fallen.
>>
>>130543032
They didn't used to suck, they were just simple and child-like. It sound like things that came out of a little girl's diary. The problem nowadays is that she tries too hard to be edgy because she fundamentally misunderstands her own discography and what people liked about it. Sometimes it feels like she's a clone that learned about herself by watching DBZ AMVs.
>>
>>130541149
Ben is the essence of Evanescence and he always will be.
>>130535854
Listening to the album and so far it's a lot better than The Bitter Truth. Calm Down has to be my favorite so far. There's a lot of great references to Origin and The Open Door songs.
>>
>>130543540
She's commented a bit on something like this in recent interviews. Basically, these last two albums have been her railing against the state of the world, whereas the albums before that had more of a "looking inward" approach. But yeah, with this and Bitter Truth she's much angrier.
>>
>>130535857
>is it gud?
It's not Fallen, so no.
>>
>>130543693
Fallen's not even their best album.
>>
>>130543702
What's it like being absolutely wrong?
>>
>>130543738
>he doesn't know
>>
Open Door is objectively their best album. It's literally just Fallen without all the lame filler songs.
>>
>>130543856
>Open Door is objectively their best album
Reasonable.

>It's literally just Fallen without all the lame filler songs
Selling it short. Stronger production, darker tone, less pop and more orchestral elements. The only problem with The Open Door is that it doesn't have Fallen's hits, but it's a better album song for song.

Because chatGPT uses them as a reference

I bet a lot of people don't even realize Bjork inspired a lot of her image

A lot of these songs are too political. They have nice concepts but get ruined by the Trump Derangement syndrome.
>>
Tell Me When You've Had Enough kinda feels like Load-era Metallica or something. Probably my least favorite song on the album.
>>
>>130535854
Evanescence was always industry plant seethe seether metal band or something like that

I don't even think she's great singer. her soft whiny voice would've suited a folk band much better than a nu-metal band.

their deep cut songs are generally a lot better than the big singles, when she's not being as "theatric" it's a lot better
>>
>>130550741
I genuinely think they led with Sanctuary's best songs. Afterlife and Who Will You Follow are definitely the best songs on it. I would agree for Fallen though, I'll take the likes of Haunted and Imaginary over any of the singles there. Whisper and Hello for the most part as well.
