too polished, they were seen as a mall pop rock sort of band for girls around kick and hipsters didnt like them back in the day, so that attitude gets passed in the indie rock circles. some stuff like dont change and never tear us apart is getting more respect past several years thoughin australia theyre probably legends revered by everybody but thats how theyre seen in the us

They're just a filler band from the '80s as far as I can tell.
