What's going on with indie/alt rock in the mid 2020s? it seems that zoomers love shit from the 80s-2000s, lots of variety from what I've seen to. So what the hell are they actually making? what are the trends currently?
>>130539020>what are the trends!?!?!? PLEASE TELL ME THE TRENDS!!!!! AHHHHH I'M LOSING MY EDGE! please I need to fuck twenty year old please tell me what's going on in indie PLEASECalm the fuck down.
>>130539037bizarre projection. I think OP is just a sperg or esl
>>130539020Part of it still gonna be Fall influenced just like your pic back in the early 90s
>>130539020Listen to Gezebelle Gaburgably The Freezer. She just dropped it yesterday theres a new indie rock record for you. Her last one Gayburger is back to front gold too that ones really strong
>>130539037this is the whole reason why lcd soundsystem exists btw kekop is probably james murphy looking for ideas for the next album
>>130539020Geese, Chat Pile, Fire Man, parannoul, basically RYM and industry plant stuff
>>130543109grim
>>130539020Trust-fund brats from London ripping off Slint.
>>130539020Revival bands. That's it. Nothing new. Same as it has been for 15 years.t. 22
>>130541970Nah. Not at all. Nobody is listening to the fall. Lmao. Nice try fallfag
people don't listen to music or make bands anymore. the new trend is, like, making a video of someone getting really pissed off at you and yelling at you. or eating something disgusting for money.
>>130539020in 5 years time you will be talking and asking about the sudden huge wave of shoegaze
dream pop mixed with electronic y2k era elements and post-punk, more or less. shit thats in the vein of like iceage or trippier beach house, george clanton hyperpop adjacent
Seems like Darkwave, gothic rock and post punk has seen a resurgence in interest among zoomers. I’m not sure if they started before 2024, but it was around than when I started to notice a lot more young people showing up for Goth night in my city.
Folk music and Americana like with singer from Low Alan Sparhawk and Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band getting some buzz but then there's also a resurgence in internet kind of indie sleaze musique concrete noise
>>130539020The hot news tm on the day were that the lost fuzz pedal that was used on the making of psychocandy were found but the pedal were too strong like the one ring from world of warcraft so work and construction were getting done about that or something like that
>>130539020Mediocre garbage with an uninteresting white boy who can't sing that has nothing to say, and he acts upset sometimes.
fifth wave emo where every band sounds like every other band
>>130550136Damn. Is it all mom jeans worship or does it sound like 90s shit?
>>130543264Such as?>>130548086Source?
>>130539037bot post on bot post action nothing like reading 'forums' in the current year
>>130550308basically edgier pop punk
>>130543109>fire mankek, just because prn's discord server is trying to make fireman a thing doesn't mean its real or anyone cares. its amateurish as fuck as prn can't sing at all. the album closer was at least memorable and somewhat cool
>>130539020i don't know, i try to make stuff like this myself but this is probably my best attempt: https://vocaroo.com/1i9xOPNu9qbZ dont think pavement esque stuff is very popular these days
>>130543109who is Fireman I can't find it when i google it, also what about Parannoul are they any good?
>>130552674>https://vocaroo.com/1i9xOPNu9qbZdope guitar tone should've done some vocals so it didn't come off like a middling instrumental, still tones are on point
>>130539020Emo with reverb, and they call it shoegaze. That and Deftones worship crap
>>130552999thanks a bunch brother, appreciate the time and words. i would do vocals, but singing and drumming are the only two things i dont do sadly!the tone is two NAMs, one a peavey amp and one a big muff pedal lol, i just copied this setup 3 times and adjusted EQ on each a bit

>>130539037What's wrong with discovering new, potentially exciting music? I thought that was exactly the point of this board, or should we all be gooning in the kpop/wpop/slutpop threads? Kys
>>130554064>kpop/wpop/slutpop threadsThe people that protect and enable these threads are trying to demotivate anons and stifle actual music discussion. That’s why blatant duplicate spam threads remain up in perpetuity and actual discussion threads are overtaken by bots. They want us all to leave so they can spam their kpop and emily pics without being told it’s weird and annoying.
>>130553895I'm curious. I'm not THAT well-versed in Deathrock. Does this sound like Only theatre of pain era Chirstian Death?
>>1305541044chanx filters for /mu/:/kpop/i;boards:mu;op:only/k-pop/i;boards:mu;op:only/ive\sthread/i;boards:mu;op:only/SSERAFIM/i;boards:mu;op:only/wpop/i;boards:mu;op:onlypretty much solves it
>>130539020https://youtu.be/cwUapT421XsI heard this one a while back and it's genuinely good, seems like zoomers are diggin it too. I've been pretty checked out of indie shit for a long time though
