This entire thread gets so much of the Gorillaz lore wrong.The reason for the lore dropper after plastic beach was a bad album deal that jamie didnt mesh with. The converse af with andre was supposed to be the end, but they got forced to continue, but jamie didnt really have any creative control. The mountain is the first album after the deal ended and is why theres actually consistent lore again.
