I don’t think it counts because it doesn’t have the Jamaican Accent but imagine if Donald Fagen used a patois for Haitian Divorce.

My favorite is the random boring slow song/ballad/whatever in the back half of an album that sucks, is completely inconsistent with the rest of the album's sound and is obviously only there as filler to pad the runtime.

Neil Young doing this out of nowhere during what would otherwise have been his best live performance of Cortez The Killer is so fucking jarring to me. It is really ironic too to end a song about white people destroying another culture with a little cultural appropriation. I guess at the time it didn't come across the way it does now but still

bob marley does this but it's like every fucking song what was his problem

every Drake album since Views has a random song with him doing a fake jamaican accent. Fun fact: none of his grandparents are jamaican.

Frank zappa started doing this in the 80s with his old songs which gave mixed results, but I think Mudd Club was a banger

fucking hell, this reminds me of the Zappa tours in the late 70s - 80s. He was on this reggae kick and did crappy reggae versions of songs all the time. Even in the '88s final tour he did a reggae version of "Ring of Fire", but at that point it was kind of funny. He'd play it four or five times in a show and it was worse every time. Zappa knew how to troll an audience.
