I used to love Riot in high school, almost 10 years ago. Listened to Narita all the time, especially the title track, even though the major key part sounded like Green Day to me and Green Day was GAY GAY DISNEYGAY (it still is, but this is a teenage metalhead retard we're talking about). They were one of those bands that I felt was kinda mine, since you could indeed look up some things about them but there wasn't any real discussion you could find. Same deal with Samhain. Shame they never quite made it, NYC was all about punk back then, but by the same measure they should have had the market cornered there and been a flagship band for the area.
second single off deep purple's new album is out, pretty good bluesy rockerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4RpBEg5uis
>>130570807your relationship with riot sounds funnily similar to mine lol
Riot is good because it's an underrated band. Underrated bands NEED to be good, (((overrated))) ones can play whatever and still be praised.
Here's a topic for y'all: 10/10 songs on otherwise mediocre albums. My pick is Ram It Down. One of my absolute favorite Priest songs, but the rest of the albums, with the exception of a couple more songs, it pretty lame.
>>130571239>Judas PriestMore like Ram It In haha
>>130571239I like that song but Hard as Iron is my favorite on the record. And to answer your question, Streets of Gold by Venator
>>130571239i do not like this band past shout at the devil, but wild side's one of motley's best songs. vince actually sings decently well (a rarity), the opening riff's really memorable and the hook is fucking catchy. i wish the rest of the album was like this, but most of it's just boring ass, not-catchy glam like the previous record.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sQDlUIysbA
>>130570935How do they fucking do it? How? They are fucking geriatric, Ian is literally going deaf and yet they still manage to do it better than their great grandchildren.
>>130571239Ram it Down ain't mediocre, its production is. Unlike Maiden which had Martin Birch to clean their sound up, Priest went from producer to producer and their sound suffered as a result.
>>130570935just fucking retire at this point bro

when are we making recommendations for the '99 chart?
>>130572423next thread
this is that general that thinks that shit like alice in chains and sleep token is "traditional metal", right?
>>130573410A preposterous concept, truly. Nay, instead of discussing old-fashioned steel; what we talk about is the finer aspects of castle architecture, maintaining thine steed, war hammers, broadswords, and only the finest vintage that the kingdom has to offer. Care to partake?
>>130573410"Traditional" is highly debatable but arguing that AiC isn't metal at all is retarded tbdesu
>>130572417ENTOMBED IN TIME WITHOUT DECAY
>>130573410I don't think I have ever seen either of those bands being mentioned in this general
>>130574821NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE LIKE THIS

>>130571660Title track, Hard As Iron and Blood Red Skies are the only songs I really care for. I rarely listen to the rest, so I'd say it's a mediocre album overall.
>>130571644Boomers made the best music it's true

>>130571239>>130571326Better than Point of Entry but overall a weak album. The song Heavy Metal would be so much better were it two minutes shorter because there weren't enough riffs to justify the runtime. Highlights: Ram It Down, Hard as Iron, Blood Red Skies
>>130571239>>130580342And, to answer your question, "Cathedral Spires" on Jugulator. Yes, I know Ripper-era Priest is controversial, but that song genuinely rips:https://youtu.be/B1rp8W2yi9U

Title track: GOAT of all GOATsNightstalker: a song Gates of Gehenna: kinoCrack the Whip: skipLaying Down the Law: goodReturn of the Passover: kino
>>130584219>seminalthe more that i think about it actually is, not just for the band and its style - but the NWOBHM as a whole. that EP released pretty fucking early on in the movement.
Was listening to Firepower recently and it dawned on me that its already been 8 years since it came out. Even Invincible Shield is already 2 years old.Insane to think that the gap between the album Turbo and Painkiller was only a mere 4 years.
Ladinhos, I posted Giant in the previous, I am going to bring AOR in the thread, hate me or love me, but I am tuning a goddess currently and am a bit in love so bear with me.Currently blasting Legs Diamond-Land of the Gun. Rocks
>>130571239This was such a lame album, but I really like the song High Enough. Not quite 10/10, though.
>>130571239Half-answer: Liege Lord Master Control is a great album. But the title track is too fucking good and overshadows everything else. So it's more like a 20/10 song on a 9/10 album.
>>13057037211/10 record.
