What do you think about the new gorillaz album?

Inconsistent, but amazing highs and great guest spots.
Moon Cave has got to be in their top 10 songs.
>>
The only Gorillaz album I liked was the first one.

It's better than the majority of shit on Plastic Beach. Plastic Beach has about 3 very good songs, but overall it's a dogshit album with slop rap cameos.

The Mountain is a step in the right direction. Cracker Island was good too.
>>
Pretty good, about on par with Song Machine. Kinda surpised at how nice the deluxe edition songs are this time, Gorillaz is very hit and miss with that shit.
>>

Listened to them both and no way in heck is Boards of Canada better than this. This music is like very sophisticated pop but BoC was like some shit that wanted to be Prog Rock but with a ambient Brian Eno album.
>>
>>130606045
They're about even for me. Inferno's fine if you can get over it kinda sounding like a glossy pastiche of Geogaddi. It still works as an hour plus long mood piece like the other BoC albums.
>>
I was quite impressed by The Mountain. I was considering Gorillaz a spent force but they proved me wrong. You can tell they put effort and heart on this one.

its ok

It's fine, definitely more fleshed out than Humanz or Cracker Island. It's above those, but a step down from Plastic Beach and the rest goes without saying.
>>
>>130607028
definitely a step up from plastic shithouse which is the worst gorillaz album ever made
>>
Gorillaz have had a really shit run of albums since Humanz (or The Fall) if you want to count that. Song Machine was alright but very lobsided in terms of quality. But the others either ranged from a snorefest (TNN, Cracker Island) or god awful save a few tracks (Humanz, The Fall). The Mountain is actually pretty good in comparison, but still not on par with their first three albums.

only song i liked by them was clint eastwood

shant be listening to this

Andromeda (DRAM Special) is the best thing Dame has done post-PB and it's a bonus track
>>

I liked the songs from that cool cel animation music vid, but the majority of the album ranges from mediocre to total fucking unlistenable trash with awful features.
I'd give it a 4/10. I'll probably never listen to it again as long as I live.
