could be. often the connections between the leads and the jacks wear out or get dirty. put some isopropyl or contact cleaner on the lead ends and jerk them in and out of the sockets a bunch of times like the dirty hoe it is, should be fine

3 pedals on a board. Need like 5 for it to qualify as a pedalboard
>>
>>130612558
As long as you keep the pedal/equipment the right side up, it'll be OK. If you have it in a weird orientation, like on its side, it'll fry itself after a few months.
>>
>>130612388
Thought it sounded familiar.. This was about 3 weeks ago from desuarchives almost forgot it was my wank lol
Aside from the modes of the major scale (dorian, myxolydian)
I think I snuck in some melodic minor shit (dorian with a major 7) there with the minor v-i
could be superlocrian or myxolydian b6
chromatic fillers in between sometimes
Then just an arpeggio of the chords at the end
>>
>>130612470

All I want is a pink guitar with active pickups and a longer scale length. Picrel is the closest to what I'm after, but it's passive, has a 24.75 scale length, and the output jack is in a seriously retarded position.

Covers a range of acoustic and electric tones

How would you like to layer your acoustic rhythms with heavily processed electric tones? Or volley between sweet acoustic sweeps and tasty rock leads in the middle of a song? It’s all possible with the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster. A 5-way switching system makes accessing these diverse tones a breeze. Each position features two distinct sound profiles (clean/crunch, short-scale/dreadnought), which can be continuously varied via the rear Blend knob. Whether you’re running into a PA or an amp, the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster provides great tones to cover an insane range of musical styles. Among his more recognized Fender designs is the "Shawbucker" humbucking pickup: For the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster's specially calibrated Acoustasonic Shawbucker pickup, Tim and Fender went back to the drawing board. "We realized we needed a higher-output pickup than normal because of the unique Acoustasonic body construction," says Tim. "The Acoustasonic Shawbucker has pole pieces that are factory preset from the back, and they’re compensated for bronze strings." This calibration permits pure electric tones you'd never believe could come from an "acoustic" instrument. "When you plug-in and experiment with the Blend control," Tim continues, "You’ll hear electric sounds that go from 'fat and clean' to 'right at home with a 4 x 12 cabinet.'" Plus, as with all Acoustasonic guitars, the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster's spanky, snarly electric tones are designed to sound great running into a traditional speaker cabinet or direct into a full-range PA.
Fishman Matrix undersaddle system

The Fishman Matrix is one of the world’s best-selling acoustic pickups. In the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster, it's your ticket to a beautiful undersaddle acoustic tone with plenty of range to suit any manner of music. Onboard body modeling helps flesh out these tones in ways never before possible.

bass is the thinking mans instrument. maybe im biased because i started on it but you have to not only consider the rhythm but also the chord structure and melody. adding a different bass note other than a root drastically changes the sound. are there cases where the bass player is simply a 3rd guitarist who got demoted? yes. but hes a guitarist playing bass like a guitar, not a bassist.
>>
So I've been using an overdrive into fuzz and distortion pedals, and then fuzz and distortion into the overdrive pedal, and I think I prefer the overdrive before. It's a timmy clone (Pure Sky) and the fuzz is the big muff and the distortion is a rat pedal. Seems people usually prefer the former? I feel like it's too subtle for after and doesn't really add much. Maybe the timmy just isn't good after?

Rosewood - not muddy (scooped EQ)
Mahogany - even Mids
None of them are muddy, unless it's a laminate. And most guitars are built on either of these templates. Even other woods get compared to how close they are to rosewood or mahogany.

Rickenbacker; those that own them love them and those that don't are insanely jealous. I gig with my Rick 330 and '94 Les Paul Gold Top and no one has ever come up to me and said "wow, cool Gold Top". If you're here to slag them off why are you watching in the first place? Expensive? Pfft. Any professional grade, high quality instrument is expensive. You get what you pay for. Ricks have incredible resale value so owning one costs very little over time. Plus Rickenbacker never had that "shitty 80's period" like the other big makers when quality control went down the toilet and they never get Cort or Sammick to make their bodies and necks then assemble them in the USA and call them "American Standards". If Page, Hendrix or Satriani played one you'd all be pissing your pants to get one. I'm glad they didn't, they would've devalued the brand.

should I pursue direct input or micing an amp
I'm fairly new to recording guitar and I struggle to get good tones. I want to make shoegaze type music, but other genres too (I'm gen z faggot ik)
my equipment for micing amp:
squier stratocaster, fender frontman 15 g amp, Scarlett studio mic (I think this might be the problem), Scarlett 2i2 focusrite
for direct input its Scarlett 2i2 focus rite n my guitar, into garageband amp sims.

which method Is cheaper/easier/better long term to get good tones?
guitar recordings for context:
https://voca.ro/1c3wSo3HuC3l
fried by fluoride type song I made by micing amp. I put the mic right infront of amp so maybe that was an issue and used super badass mxr distortion pedal. I'm also bad at mixing to be noted.
https://voca.ro/1013YxcXHAJz
song I made using direct input
guitar -> chorus/reverb pedals -> garage band amp sim
I like both of those but here's a song that's really bad

sounds really bad, was going for duster type beat

That amp is dogshit. Just buy one of these for right now. You can use it as a headphone amp and you can plug in directly to the input of your interface. You can download other amp models. If you have another $180 get the ir200 which is the same but better. Alternatively you can get a line 6 but I would stick with one of the pedal ones. You could get a pod go or a helix. If you get one of those you can cover trying out every effects. Then if you really like them and need the SOVL you'll at least know what to get.
>>
>>130623104
Had a dream I had the most intense double orgasm and was hosing the whole room with jizz.
>>
>>130623120
Also I would say in general if you're going to buy cheaper dedicated pedals in general don't go with boss. They make good electronics but the individual pedals don't even have true bypass. Get the ~$100 range of tc electronics like hall of fame reverb, flashback 2x4 delay, hypergravity compressor, mojomojo od, etc. Tc electronics rules for individual good digital effects. But the boss higher end stuff with more modeling and tweaking like the ir200 or rc10r or dd200, that tier pedal are great. The individual cheap stomp boxes I wouldn't get too many of. I only say the ir2 for your budget otherwise I would go straight to an ir200 or line 6 helix lt
>>
>>130623120
Why would one spend money on that when things like NAM are free and offer way more possibilities for home recording? If he doesn't care about laws, he can download unauthorized copies of amp sim software.
The only advantage those things have is if you want a portable solution for playing shows.

>>130622599
Just download one of the countless software amp simulation solutions. You already seem to be invested in hardware with all those pedals, yet a shitty amp (I don't understand that). Keep those for when you want to play with other people, but for recording use the software solution.
>>
>>130623195
For me because I have a 4x12 and a pa system and can turn off ir for the cabinet and run just a power amp or plug direct into the pa from it. It's also more convenient as a headphone amp becuse you can just move it to the couch or bed or another room without lugging the laptop and interface.

I would like to get rid of it and get a prs tele. I played one at gc and the nh53 is incredible. I just think it should be $2000 not fucking $2900. No idea where all that money is going when it doesn't have a carved top and it has a simple body. It has a maple neck not even roasted or anything, not ebony, not even some nice rosewood. It has a simple bridge that is on the vela which costs $1800 made in usa. The vela has a set fucking neck and a carved top and semi hollow chamber to route and a coil split circuit. Like where the fuck is the $900 even going? If anything it should be priced below the vela. What am I paying for, just hype?

I have an overdrive pedal through a solidstate amp and I'm not sure if I want a tube amp.
What are the main differences? Do tube amps give you less control over tone since they need to warm up or whatever?
>>
>>130624199
In my experience solid state clean tones can sound nice and pristine but they're always lacking some kind of sponginess in the distortion department. You should just go to a music store and play through a tube amp and see how you like it, imo.

the best overdrive tones from my favorite songs have been blues drivers into solid state
the only advantage tubes have theoretically is "tone"
if you prefer the way pedals sound, solid state has more advantages. the most important of which is having more control over the volume of your different tones

One of the few Ibanez shapes I like. Also Gilbert is a bloody beast. I only know a few of his songs but every time I see him play I'm left amazed. The guy makes fast picking look like the easiest thing ever.

Aside from being incredibly proficient, he's also a good song writer which I really appreciate.

Also a chill dude. He also taught Buckethead (who's one of my all time faves) and I have nothing but respect for the guy. Technical difficulties is near the top of my list of speedy songs I wanna learn once I get really good.
