>>130624631If you ever wanted to know what it's like being a large radio tower or a nondescript overcast German city after the rain ends, this is the album for you. Then the last track hits, and suddenly you're in a cave, warm and humid and blue and somewhat... erotic? I dunno, shit rocks.
>>130626970I'd add After the Heat
Ambient 4
>>130638671my nigga
>>130627171This is good. It sounds a lot like Stuart Dempster's highly reverbed trombone recordings. Just compositional more inspired by Berlin School and Vangelis - specifically "Love Theme" from the Blade Runner soundtrack.
>>130626970Absolute king, but none of those three are really ambient. Sowiesoso on the other hand...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npyrURAZNPE

as someone that's mostly unconvinced by highly sparse, abstract, and beatless ambient that is decently immersive but also vague, and somewhat generic in a way that makes it feel very "ignorable" to me, i find this album refreshing--and it's been my favorite for years. to give a reference of my usual taste; i love stuff like substrata, hydroponic garden, selected ambient works vol 2, and artists like monolake and the more ambient side to Ultimae Records--basically music with a clear sense of direction or that paints an organic landscape in my head, even if minimal. ambient that, on the other hand, conforms to being vaguely atmospheric sort of looses my attention (e.x. a lot of dark ambient, like albums from Cryo Chamber, expect their best lovecraft collaborations).World Receiver feels truly special to me out of how genuinely captivating it sounds despite being so floaty and abstract. the way those sounds and textures seem to merge with each other and transform over time makes each track feel substantial in a way that's rare for this niche. there's even an emotional sensibility involved in the arrangement of the sounds that wasn't immediately apparent for me and only revealed gradually over multiple listens--it feels like the artist is getting the right emotions out of each sound, not simply merging them in cool ways. long-ass wall of text lol, but i love this album, so i wanted to ramble a bit about it.
