You can write simple words that rhyme about something like a relationship, or you can write a bunch of gobbledygook that doesn't make sense and people will perceive it as artistic or you can actually be poetic which is the most difficult. But still. You're writing words. Creating the music and melodies is the hard part.Elliott Smith was a great songwriter and musician. Kurt Cobain tried too hard with his lyrics.
