I wasn't aware that this was hated to the point of being a meme. Not very surprising I guess, especially if the primary audience for this is going to be braindead metalheads. I just listened to this because I love Pandora's Box, I don't care much for metal, I just went into it with the idea that I was going to listen to an experimental musical adaptation of that story instead of expecting a cool metal album or something that makes sense as a rock album meant for broad consumption. The only part of this that I thought was straight up bad were Hetfield's vocals, the rest is great stuff. It's crazy to me that apparantly me and David Bowie are the only people on earth who liked this album.
