Oliver Tree was truly this generation's Buddy Holly. Zoomers are going to have to write their own version of The Day the Music Died now
>>
>>130639231
Zoomers get nothing. There is no "this generations's Cobain", no "Buddy Holly", no "Woodstock". Not even a clusterfuck "Woodstock sequel with Fred Durst and rapists".
>>
ZDS is a legitimate millennial mental crisis.

Woodstock 2019 getting canceled is my personal 9/11

Who is this? I've never heard of him. He must not be very popular if I've never heard of him.

He's the guy from that one Weezer song
>>
>>130639781
Who? Never heard of them. They must not be popular.

I was born in 2000 and I never heard of Oliver Tree until today. Millennials are so obsessed with zoomers like how Eurosharts are so obsessed with Americans. It's funny. It feels good that I don't think about your shitty generation this much or at all until you do something stupid, as usual.

It's just Juvenoia. I remember when Gen Xers were shitting on Millennials, saying the same exact shit that Millennials are now saying about Zoomers, and someday even you zoomers are going to be shitting on Gen Alphas and so on until the end of time

Oliver Tree is a Millennial. Fuck off

>>130639521
XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD and Technoblade can be our martyrs. End of strory. We don't need equivalents.

>Zoomers get nothing
Kill yourself you fucking spiteful prick.

>>130639553
MDS has existed and still exists on TikTok, Instagram and Youtube for fucking years. Since 2018 or something like that.

>>130642151
>someday even you zoomers are going to be shitting on Gen Alphas
Has already happened for 3+ years. Skibidi Toilet was the start.

>>130642151
>Millennials are now saying about Zoomers
Non stop on 4chan since 2018 by the way. I was here when Zoomer was coined. What the fuck do you mean by "now"? fuck off.

It's been nearly a fucking decade. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.
>>
>>130642151
It's not even that, it's the observable fact that zoomers are less competent than their millennial counterparts. I work with zoomers and have zoomer friends and they're all incapable of a lot of basic shit, from driving to utilizing a file system on a computer. Calling legitimate criticism over your own generational cohort a "derangement syndrome" is ridiculous and retarded. Start being competent instead of worrying about millennials making fun of you.
>>
Buddy Holly was only fucking 22 when he died?? holy fuck, I can't imagine leaving such a timeless impression on pop culture at such a young age, I don't even know why I know this guy's name, but I do
>>
>>130639231
>write
You mean type. In shorthand too. Zoomies don't know how to write, and when they attempt to it's in gay-assed victorian modern cursive.

when do we get a post apocalyptic movie where Oliver Tree becomes a Samurai and has to fight Slash to take over Vegas after King Elvis died?

seriously, this movie is wild

Ooh-ooh, I look just like Oliver Tree

he had one (1) viral hit years ago that was almost as annoying as "dance monkey" and it wasn't even his work really. his persona was a complete lie, he said he went to clown school and was a competitive kickscooter rider. this bawwing over his death is all performative bullshit.

>In 2022, rising German EDM producer southstar released a highly popular remix of Oliver Tree’s song "Jerk" under the title "Miss You". Shortly after, mega-producer Robin Schulz (who is on the same label as Oliver Tree) dropped his own version of "Miss You," using the exact same sample and production style. Southstar publicly accused Schulz of making a direct 1:1 copy of his breakout record to capitalize on its viral success.

>Because southstar had not cleared the copyright for the original vocals, Oliver Tree's camp had the legal leverage. Ultimately, Oliver's label favored and promoted the Robin Schulz version, which went on to become a massive global hit. Southstar later stated on social media that Oliver Tree wasn't personally the one behind the copycat move, but rather got caught in the crossfire between the labels and producer dispute.

There’s a 90s song by Weezer called Buddy Holly that’s very popular. I reckon it’s more popular than anything Holly actually made
>>
>>130639231
he was forgotten in a day

There was never a thread about Oliver Tree on /mu/ until yesterday.

Woah, buddy. It is our problem. Go to the shill general to shill your favorite bandcamp indie artists don't shoehorn them in random threads and pretend we all know them.

Buddy Holly's death was genuinely tragic because a lot of the shit he was recording was a decade ahead of their time and he was still young. There was this sense that if he hadn't died then he probably would've ended up leaning more into experimental shit going into the 60s like what the Beach Boys tried to do and what The Beatles did. He was already hanging out with beatnik druggies in the New York Greenwich Village scene before he died.

Oliver Tree by contrast was already a has-been that was never destined for greatness outside of being an internet-famous relic of the 2010s
>>
>>130657171
XXXTentacion and JuiceWRLD were massive mainstream rappers, Technoblade was a massive Youtuber.
>>
>>130658089
Cool. Rap and Youtube are not music.
