>ITS LIKE DEMENTIA, BRO! GET IT?!
Why would anyone want to listen to something like this? It’s fucking stupid.
>>
video essay sloptubers hype this shit up like it's the coolest thing ever and its just 6 hours of noise
>>
>>130654180
There's better hauntology and ambient.
>>
It's sad because old people are retarded

https://leylandkirby.bandcamp.com/album/v-vm-the-death-of-rave-a-partial-flashback-2
i preferred it when he applied the same shtick to rave music and dabbed on young people obsessed with nostalgia pre-emptively blowing vaporwave the fuck out before it even existed.
>>
>>130654180
Look, nobody actually wants to listen to it, but even the creator knew that. The actual problem is how annoyingly overhyped it was. Should have just been an interesting but very obscure musical exercise like The Disintegration Loops, and it probably would have been if not for the first track being so catchy.

>>130654248
Definitely, but I do think An Empty Bliss Beyond This World was good for what it was (The Shining).
>>
>>130654180
I said that when the entire internet including 4chan was jerking it off. It's just running on an interesting concept for an album but, my god, you clearly don't value your time if you'd willingly sit and listen to 8 hours of shitty ballroom looping music get filters added to it every hour

>Definitely, but I do think An Empty Bliss Beyond This World was good for what it was (The Shining).
my thing is that that empty bliss accomplished the same concept but in a more digestible and engaging format. didn't personally see a reason to force myself to do the 6-hour version when the LP length one was already fine

I assume the thought process is "Well, I can't do better, so let's see how far I can push this before I quit."

like what? genuinely interested

>vaporwave
I'd like to hear some vaporwave recs too
the only vaporwave that I return to is that Nmesh/telepath double album and the s/t by 骨架的 (skeleton)
>>
Why does this board think that summarizing an album's concept is an instant own / diss? It's not.
Obviously you're not obligated to like it but if you have criticisms of the album, actually make them and go into detail instead of
>album is [x] bro (saying 'le' or 'heckin' optional)
A one sentence wikipedia summary is not a replacement for actual articulate criticism or analysis.

Love both of those. Some recs both known and slightly unknown;

It’s less gimmicky, more conceptually interesting and far less exploitative than its nearest analog, Basinski’s disintegration loops. $150 fucking dollars for a vinyl box set exploiting that national tragedy for material gain? No thank you. The Caretaker’s schtick is also somewhat morally compromised, but I feel like he treats victims of dementia with far more respect and dignity than Basinski treats the victims of 9/11.

Gavin Bryars, you’re safe. if only because the titanic sunk over a century ago and no one cares about that shit.

I’m joking about Bryars obviously, Jesus’s Blood and Titanic are phenomenal pieces of music and far superior to The Caretaker. Basinski can suck a fuck tho

>Jesus’s Blood
I've been so obsessed with this that i've listened to it 6 times in a row on a sleep deprived episode. I'm making a a chamber ensemble arrangement for it too
>Basinski can suck a fuck tho
Not even shortwave music or Variations? Oh well to each their own
>>
>>130658219
Anon you should also listen to the guy who started it all

Is everybody on this board so vehemently anti-art?
>>
>>130654180
what's that? the caretaker?
never understood the appeal whatsoever
>>130654260
at least v/vm was funny
especially that album with the awful robbie williams and john lennon songs detroyed (and improved)
>>
(((conceptual art))) as "music" should be shot in the back of the head, simple as.
>>
Some of the songs sound cool
The noise parts get pretty dull
>>

just say you hate fun

who's going to do it? you, incel? kek
