Was this the greatest run of albums by a single band in the '90s? If not, who has it beat?
>>130673211Between Pavement, Smashing Pumpkins and Built to Spill
elliott smith
>>130673211Adore flopped back in the day, and Billy Corgan is still mad lmao
>>130673257Still a kino album imo
>>130673257Right to be, had no reason to flop. Especially compared to later albums. Holds up to Mellon Collie and is definitely better than both Gish and Pisces Iscariot.
>panda shaw>teesin baul>ice cream snow>see youinoo>(jew)i really hate the gish vocals
hahahano
>>130673453>shino, shino, shino....shino, shino, shino....

>>130673211Oasis, they beat everyone.
>>130673232Mentioning Pavement alongside Smashing Pumpkins
Stone Temple Pilots. They were the best band to come out of the Grunge scene
All of Alice In Chains discography with Layne

>>130673257Adore was still 'bigger' than most alternative bands will ever get. Ava Adore was all over MTV and radio, and still gets played on alternative rock radio to this day. I was actually a teenager and fan and hated Adore but it grew on me and now I think it's great. History has already corrected its stance on Adore and its pretty much universally agreed to be a great album that was just ahead of its time, didn't really fit in the existing alt rock format of the 90s
>>130673211Mr bungle, the flaming lips, mercury rev, susumu hirasawa to name a few
Ween had a legendary run
>>130677805Ween mogs all>GodWeenSatan>The Pod>Pure Guava>Chocolate and Cheese>12 Golden Country Greats>The Mollusk>White Pepper>Quebec>Shinola…are all 12/10 albums. I don’t know who could possibly compete with that run
>>130676592Flaming Lips had a 2 great album streak (transmissions and clouds) SP had a 5 great album streak (gish - machina)not even close
>>130673211Melvins beat it with the first half of their 90s run.
>>130673211Sugar Ray
>>130677953>SP had a 5 great album streak (gish - machinaLmao, ofc it's not sp who has a 2 great album streak(siamese dream and half of mellon collie)
>>130673633sugar gay lol
>>130673211For me, it's the Afghan Whigs>Congregation (1992)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36R3NjGkexU>Gentlemen (1993)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxe3AhMv7Z0>Black Love (1996)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKPJPEcs5zE>1965 (1998)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnxkKOV7-xgMy favorite alt-rock band in general, shame I hardly ever see them mentioned.
