Time filters out the landfill and it gets rightfully forgotten, but at most any point in the history of popular music a lot of immediately digestible and disposable music was consumed in the moment. God knows how much of it was made just to eke out a quick buck, but you even see it now in bloated album tracklists and short runtimes just to pump those streaming numbers that little extra bit higher. Nothing has changed in spirit, only the method and trends.

Today the sound that controls pop is rap/R&B/Electro Pop.
