I play in an alt country band with friends and while it’s fun it isn’t my kind of music. The stuff I record on my own or play with some of those same friends outside of that band is kind of Talking Heads meets a less distorted Pixies I guess, kind of late 70s new wave meets 80s alternative. One of the guys in the alt country thing and I have been talking about doing some Tom Petty tribute stuff purely for fun because we both love Tom Petty

Would you anons be kind enough to suggest some humidity control systems for a guitar that lives in its case?
My apartment sits at around 55-60 percent humidity, a little lower in the case. Temperature stays in the 72-74 range.
At this point, I just have the basic sponge in the hydrometer device
>>
>>130685927
that is on the higher end of what most recommend for humidity, but if it's pretty stable you probably don't need anything extra
the best course is to just monitor it and if you start to see it trending higher or lower as seasons change look into humidifiers/dehumidifiers if needed

I have one of these js32t king vs and I wanna upgrade the nut and the bridge. It's supposed to be a 12-16 inch compound radius so the bridge should be at 18 inches but I can't find a TOM bridge at that radius anywhere. Would something like a 16 inch radius bridge be okay? Also wanna get a graph tech tusq nut for it because the stock one is plastic garbage. I sit down and the whole guitar goes out of tune. I know it's a cheapshit guitar but I really enjoy playing it and I'd love to spruce it up a little so it stays in tune and plays even better.

Yeah I got a set of gotoh ones (and stupidly cracked the headstock when I screwed in the low e one) and they seem fine but the nut really is the issue. I can turn the high e one for example and the pitch doesn't change for like half a turn. I figure a nut change would be sufficient enough but a guy I brought it to once said there's something faulty with the bridge so I'm thinking I'd change that too. Then if I get it perfectly playable I'd swap the pups for some sd jb/jazz or something.

How do inversions work for rhythm guitar?
Say the current chord is C major but I want to use a chord/triad that has E as the root and C as the 3rd or 5th - is it still c major?

What's the difference between the marshall amps like the DSL or the JVM
I want a classic rock tone
>>
>>130688361
DSL sounds like shit if you don't replace the speaker and adjust the bias, DO NOT RECOMMEND
>>
>>130688382
Then why did that anon recommend a DSL??
>>
>>130688399
Because he's retarded, it sounds like shit at bedroom levels and doesn't open up until its louder than you can reasonably yell, this applies to the 20 and the 40, if you play in a garage with no neighbors sure get it.
>>
>>130688361
If you can afford a JVM get the JVM. They're outstanding amps that will cover pretty much any marshall tone you want.
>>130688382
Adjusting the bias on those is easy. He has a cabinet so the speaker wont matter. The V type is a good speaker, but a creamback is better. The 20 only comes as a head.
>>
>>130688361
Just buy a boss ir2 and a headrush frfr-108 powered speaker both used. Should cost you $300-350.

>>130688448
The amp gets its drive from the preamp section. It's not a traditional marshall where the power section needs to be pushed. It sounds better at louder volumes (most amps do) but still sounds really good in the 75-90 db range especially if you push an already dirty amp with an overdrive.
